This GOP convention feels like a funeral. |
|
Maybe the Democratic Convention set the bar too high for me, but watching this thing on televison feels like a funeral. The convention center looks empty, there doesn't seem to be any enthusiasm, and the waving cowboy hats are getting on my nerves. Is this all they've got? Is it the result of Hurricane Gustav, or is there really NO energy here? It seems like they're just going through the motions, like they know they're going to lose. I don't want to get over-confident, nor do I want anyone to think that Obama/Biden have it in the bag. I want big voter turnout and an electoral college blowout. The Peggy Noonan stuff today really makes me feel like it's over. Does everybody feel like this? I worry that it will be like a big football game, building up a big lead and then going into a soft prevent defense, allowing them to get back in the game.

1. Totally void of inspiration. |

Just using the "faults" from the other side as justification to vote for their side. Logical fallacy much?

2. I spoke with a friend of mine who was in Denver the day before our |

convention. She said you could FEEL the excitement in the air! There was Obama everything - hats, candy bars, mits. Everybody seemed in a Holiday mood.
Rachel was saying the same thing today, but there at the RNC, you wouldn't know there was something going on unless you were at the venue (except for the smell of pepper spray in the air.)

Give them two months, it should be clearer by then!
