I think Palin delivered, but the strategy was over the top. |

It comes off as disingenuous under the circumstances given she said not long ago not she didn't know who she was voting for. Suddenly she's a highly partisan attack dog? It will not sell, IMO.

1. I think she stunk on ice |
|
The only people she wowed with that speech were the fucking morons that were going to vote for her in the first place.
That was miserable. Excruciating.

8. It was an effective speech |
|
for THAT audience and she delivered it well. It was a bit too sarcastic and I know it won't pass a fact-check test too well.
It served its purpose though. It got the base fired up. Now McCain has to follow up and we know he is an awful speaker. All this build up is so out of proportion to the final act.

She was actually pretty good for someone so new to the national scene and if I was a republican hockey mom from Red State America, I would have been ecstatic.
I did find it interesting that when McCain came out and hugged her, she got a nasty look on her face. I saw that look one more time while they were on stage and it gave the impression that she didn't like him very much (or he had onions for dinner).

10. She got a HUGE benefit from Guliani's warmup...he set the vibe - not her. |
|
She was almost anti-climatic...
Downhill from here for the GOP - IMO...
