The thing she did was excite the base. The thing she didn't do was attract anyone on the fence.

Sure, it may be cute to be non-stop snarky, but it is no turn-on for people looking for substance, insight, and understanding. She never discussed our biggest concerns... the economy and protecting our homes. She just went on and on about oil oil oil, like we're supposed to be in love with oil.

I can't say she was pathetic. I can't say it was a bad speech. I can't say it was badly delivered. But I can say that it didn't attract anyone new to her party... there's nothing uplifting or inspiring about anything whatsoever that she snarked about, and in the days to come, the memory of what kind of feeling people had watching her will fade as a result of her inability to connect emotionally.

They're both robots.

3. The base is the WHOLE point. They need to be able to guarantee a block
of votes to whatever remains of their Republican candidates after the GE. Who's going to run for them if they can't deliver voters? They are concretizing a guaranteed block of votes in order to stay alive. Yea, they'll lie, cheat, and steal a "win" if they can, but the absolute main thing that they MUST do is insure a voting block of some sort in order to hold onto their own candidates.

5. In a year where people are craving bi-partisanship,

she gave a very partisan speech. Not only did she attack Obama, Michelle, Reid, and Biden, she attack the entire party. That should do wonders for her favorability rating among moderate and conservative Dems.

6. I didn't get warmth and understanding from her, I got cold and snarky.
One good thing...I don't think people will hate Biden for attacking her back, and revealing some of her lies. After all, she's the one with the guns.
