Having lived in the suburbs all of my life, I can see where they were going with that. |
|
I have met hundreds of women like Sarah Palin and they probably loved that speech. The good news is that they were never voting for Obama anyway. That was not a classy speech. Moderates probably were pretty much offended by that speech. I consider myself I fairly moderate guy and I went into that speech with an open mind because we know relatively little about this person, but try as I might I felt the need to shoot myself to make it stop. It was like watching a horror movie you just knew was going to give you nightmares later.

1. I know people like Sarah Palin too, but a lot of other people don't like them. |
|
I think that a lot of people - men and women - are going to recognize in Sarah Palin tonight the woman they can't stand in the neighborhood. Every suburban neighborhood has at least one. Nasty, nosy, gossipy, self-righteous. Their kids are always the worst behaved and she's never around when they need her. She's got her nose in everyone else's business, and she smirks whenever anyone else has a misfortune.
I think that the Republicans just lost millions of votes tonight.

2. You summed her up perfectly. |
|
I'm hoping that moderate Rs and so-called independents reject the hate.

I just posted an identical take.. Sorry Sarah is the busy-body neighbor who gossips. She's not likeable.

4. Yes...there's something so "familiar about her"...and it's what you say... |
|
exactly. And, the one who dumps her children at your house when there's a crisis but can't ever return the favor when you have one. If she's supposed to bring something to a neighborhood get together...she forgets about it and laughs as she shows up empty handed.
Quite frightening that someone like that could end up President, isn't it. But, then, she's just George Bush in a skirt. We all knew someone like George somewhere along the way, too. The frat boy who is never responsible for anything...but his own good time...the hell with everyone else. Not all frat boys are that way...but there are certain fraternities known for the George Bush types.

6. I didn't see the speech--but women like that are EXACTLY why I don't join the PTA. |
|
I know JUST who in my own neighborhood you and Zynx are talking about. EXACTLY.
