Guilliani is so full of it using primary result comparisons.
First, there were better candidates on the Democratic side.

Second, 37,169,935 voted in the Democratic Primaries between 41 candidates. While 20,613,585 voted in the Republican Primaries between 36 candidates. McCain received 9,615,533 votes. Clinton received 17,857,400 votes and Obama received 17,584,510. *Source: thegreenpapers -- McCain only managed almost 54% of the votes of either Obama or Clinton.
