Obama camp reaction to Palin's speech
Obama camp reaction to Palin's speech
Posted: Wednesday, September 03, 2008 11:26 PM by Mark Murray
From NBC's Mark Murray

“The speech that Gov. Palin gave was well delivered, but it was written by George Bush’s speechwriter and sounds exactly like the same divisive, partisan attacks we’ve heard from George Bush for the last eight years," said Obama spokesman Bill Burton. "If Gov. Palin and John McCain want to define ‘change’ as voting with George Bush 90% of the time, that’s their choice, but we don’t think the American people are ready to take a 10% chance on change."

1. Will they quit with this pussy-foot coddling shit already!
For fuck-sakes, her speech delivery was horrible and the speech content was even worst. Call a spade a fucking spade and stop being so fucking nice or we're going to lose in November. Be strong, decisive, and direct and stop the chicken-shit nice guy routine. Jeebus.

2. Sometimes you don't have to fight the fight...
... just let them dig themselves into their own holes... shot themselves in their feet... open their mouths and remove all doubt for being a fool.....

The Beauty Queen seems to have quite a number of ugly scars underneath the 'make up'.

The more interesting 'Sarah Palin' will be the one answering questions without the benefit of a speech-writer.

3. Sounds an awful lot to me like "keeping our powder dry" bullshit.
Sometimes -- and I say this as a veteran -- you've got to take the fight to your enemy. Do the unexpected and stick it to him hard and fast. We're fighting for the very heart and soul of our country, we can't afford to hold back. We can't afford to let them get away with the same old bullshit while we employ the same old tactics of old. It's time to cut them deep and savagely. Enough! To many people are suffering in this country for Democrats to engage in nuance and pathetic strategies of waiting for the enemy to destroy themselves. We've got to help the process along -- don't just give the sons-of-bitch's bullets and a gun to shoot themselves -- give them alcohol, sleeping pills, and fucking cyanide to make sure the job gets done right.

8. Well, 'offing' them probably isn't most pragmatic or endearing way
... but I agree that it's time for some rehtorical butt-kicking.

And I expect, FULLY EXPECT, that come Monday, after the buzz of the conventions are done, the confetti swept up...
there SHOULD be a better strategy of The Old Guy and the Beauty Queen.

But when the MSM is in the GOP's bed, how does one go about getting the message out without it being filtered and slanted?

5. The election needs to be about the issues.
Palin's speech was an attempt to get Obama to fall into their trap and play their game. If he does, he loses. Obama is running against McCain, not Palin. They would love him to get in a pissing match with her so that she can be elevated to Obama's level or him lowered to her's. She does not deserve that recognition. Why should his campaign do anything tonight to validate her? He needs to just brush her off his shoulders and move ahead with his campaign against McCain's 3rd Bush term.

McCain cannot compete with Obama and he knows it. But he is going to have to. Obama is not Gore or Kerry. He will take the upper hand in his own way and in his own time.

6. Good smackdown on Palin - frame her as a tool just reading a script
from the GWB machine.

I'm sure there's much more to come. Obama isn't going to take that crap from this lightweight.
