Sorry, but I respect the work he's doing in a way that I expect the loved ones of soldiers share.

I am deeply, deeply offended.

They are doing a GREAT job rallying the Democratic base. We saw the real, ugly face of the GOP tonight. I was a lukewarm Obama voter. Now I am an Obama organizer on overdrive.

Also, I posted it in another thread, but we're so busy, I'll post it again. When I texted my boyfriend Rudy's comments about community organizing not being a real job, his response?

"Neither is standing on a pile of rubble."

1. She Sure Didn't Gain The Community Organizer Vote Tonight
and there are a lot more of them than all the votes she got in her last election. Not sure all hockey moms appreciated being compared to a dog either.

2. What a great response! I was LIVID about that Reich Wing nobody
slamming Obama for having done real work with real people that made a real difference. He could have had his pick of plum jobs; he could have clerked for one of the Supremes for pete's sake; he could have written his own ticket and made a fortune. He CHOSE to take a low-paying, risky job in an effort to make a real difference.

What filth rePiglicans are.

raising money to support community organizing, among other issues, I found this really offensive. She is tweaking the very base of the Democratic Party. What she failed to address is that Obama's community organizing background is rightly credited with why he out-organized Hillary in the primaries.

8. Oh they dug their grave tonight
It was stupid on their part to disrespect community organizers. Community organizers are going to organize an unbelievable get out the vote campaign this year. Palin just crossed that line in the sand.

12. I just caught a few seconds of it so I could've misheard him, but...

did Giuliani make disparaging comments, too? I could've sworn I heard him mock Obama for getting an Ivy League education and then sneer that Obama decided use that education to be a community organizer. (Just because Bush went to an Ivy League school and emerged a selfish asshole doesn't mean all Ivy Leaguers do that, Rudy.)

14. I don't speak German, but Rudy's speech was the most disgusting I have ever heard
Granted, I am only 29 - but I WAS at the RNC in 1984.

13. hmmm- MLKjr was an incredible community organizer, so was
Dorothy Day, Fr. Daniel Berrigan, Susan B. Anthony, Cesar Chavez, Mother Jones, Ellen Gates Starr, Jane Addams, W.E.B. DuBois, Thurgood Marshall, Medgar Evers, and even Albert Schweitzer, Mother Teresa, and Gandhi among so many others.

ms.Palin, Rude Guliani and those who applauded their words tonite, have no concept of what 'Community Organizing' really involves, or requires from those who do the work- if they did, they would never have spoken in such an ignorant and self righteous way about those who give their lives for the betterment of the voiceless, and don't expect people to idolize them in return. That seems like more of a Politicans mo to me.

 to you, your boyfriend, and all who do what needs to be done, no matter how little public accolades they get for working hard and fighting against the machine.
