Please... please listen for a moment about endlessly repeating "community organizer."
Please. Don't do it endlessly on DU in connection with Obama's name -- it furthers and abets the GOP's goal of imprinting in voters minds that he is "only" a "community organizer" and not the next President of the United States.

WE KNOW who and what Obama is, a former community organizer, a State Senator, currently a United States Senator and certainly the next President of the United States.

Please, please don't visually and verbally imprint what the GOP wants everyone to think of Sen. Barack Obama as: "just a community organizer."

(Please don't think for a moment I don't honor the work of those who are willing to take up the struggles of everyday citizens. I just have a sinking feeling as to where this seed the GOP has planted is going and don't want to have any part in helping them hit paydirt.)

1. I know--they are trying to reduce and diminish Obama. And it's also
GOP code for "ghetto".

And I know what code they're using when they spit out and mock, 'community organizer'. I think we all do.

6. It's a two-edged sword.
How many community organizers do the Publicans have?

How many of them feel they're doing an important job?

And HOW many of them will feel belittled to hear a community organizer mocked?

Maybe we should start saying, "I guess Republicans don't respect community organizers, but the Democratic Party does".

They're a Godsend, and we should tell them so.

7. Actually, I've been thinking the same thing. The game is to distract us and emphasize
what would seem like a minor aspect of Obama's broad record.

15. So right, distraction is the name of the game.
After reading George Lakoff's book, "Don't Think of An Elephant" during the Kerry campaign, my eyes were opened to so much more, in terms of combating right-wing B.S.
