Sarah Palin Beat the Odds |
|
Edited on Thu Sep-04-08 03:22 AM by the48er
It's easy to see why so many talking heads were wowed by Palin's performance last night.
Most incredibly of all perhaps, over the course of about a week some of the best Republican speechwriters money can buy wrote a relatively effective speech. Yep, against all odds those magnificent bastards did something they've been doing for years -- something they've trained to to do, something they're paid a lot of money to do. My God, I stand in awe.
But that was nothing next to Palin's unprecedented, transcendent and glorious accomplishment. Never before in the history of humankind had an exceptionally well-coached and -prompted politician delivered a speech that many supporters and empty-headed observers thought was really good. Never before Caribou Barbie came to town, that is. Incredibly, Palin pulled off what the whole world would surely have considered simply undoable. Think about it for a minute: a politician gave a well-prepared speech in roughly the manner she was supposed to give it. Astounding. To her I bend my knee.
Sweet Jesus ... How can we defend ourselves from the blinding light of Palin & Co.'s sheer, indisputable brilliance?
Be afraid -- be very afraid -- of the Republican juggernaut, my friends. Apparently there's absolutely nothing that these conjurers of time, space and reality can't do.
