I can just imagine a "family emergency" involving little Trig or Bristol's pregnancy that just happens to fall on the day of the debate and remain "touch and go" right up until the election. Meanwhile, the press will be running the "just look at how she selflessly puts family and duty before personal ambition" firehose at full power.

The only way Palin can survive a debate is not to have one.
