Relax, people.....
Palin was chosen from a position of weakness, almost while in panic mode. The McSame campaign is so desperate that they had to select her to shore up their base. Think about that for a second. He doesn't even feel comfortable with his BASE, the deadenders who still support *. Wow.

Her speech last night made no attempt to appeal to independent voters. Why? Again, they are still shoring up the base.

Palin's job at this point is to make the loss a little less embarrassingly bad, and to keep the down ticket repugs from losing in a total landslide.

They are not even pretending to use a real strategy that would win them the independent voters crucial to a victory in November.

They beleive they have held Obamas lead back to even, so they don't have to go for the independent, they just have to get there vote out. 2 weeks ago they couldn't do that because the repubs were feeling a little guilty, choosing palin and her message delivered they now have the words they need to deny it was theyre fault. They now dont have to vote for those crappy republicans(that they are) they can vote for the mavericks that are true blue amurkans.

They have begun attacking the press so they dont have to talk to them anymore and if they dont talk to the press its difficult in a visual medium to bring contrast and the media is locked from being onesided so they wont show the cotrasts, so they are taking the last 60 days of the fight away with this change. That sucks

In a normal elction that would be devastating and it is why you see people scared, But Obama/Biden got it covered thats why you dont see them fighting the fight on TV right now, they are on the ground talking to people, and moving the ground game up notches and in to action.

3. She's a parallel to Bush's failed international policies
She was gaining sympathy and support from the public due to the 'attacks' on her and her family. Then, she proceeded to flush the sympathy and support down the toilet by attacking the wrong people.

Sound familiar?

4. Palin was chosen out of desperation
I bet McSame wanted Lieberman but he is Jewish, Romney a Mormon, so after 2 meetings they pointed her out and made the selection, she is a nothing and nothing but another mouthpiece for the neo cons/fundis. Just another tool.

7. Just the opposite, Palin was chosen out of pompousness
Her choice wasn't made lightly, it would be easy to think that way because we know they are stupid, the choice was a brilliant political move in a checkers game he just jumped about 15 moves.

The pompousness comes in in McCain believing he held Obamas growth back enough that they dont need to to get the independant vote, they just have to get their base back and they beat us handily(in the old numbers scenario this would be true and enough)

But while the choice of Palin is a smart checker move the game today is chess and Obama/Bidens 50 state ground game and NEW VOTE creation is what has been missed by McCain

5. Agreed...
Palin came off great as far as the GOP base in concerned.....the main problem with that is the base has been shrinking and is still shrinking. Appealing to the base will get the Republican ticket maybe 33% of the vote. What Palin did last night was turn off more Independents and drove any Hillary Dems off the fence and into Obama's camp. The Palin pick is Impalin' the GOP. Their goose is cooked. It is going to be a landslide of Epic proportions in November. Instead of going towards the center to at least attempt to attract Independent votes, Sarah Palin has gone off the reservation. I have no clue who last night's speech was aimed at, but the read meat was only for the base, which is getting smaller by the day...

to McCain approaching *'s #'s previous, and we know how that turned out. Palin only seems like a choice made out of desperation. Her rap on energy isn't just canned; she believes it. And she delivers the opinions of energy producers without stuttering, or batting an eye. Along with all the rest of so-called Americana queue George Strait. I don't want to see this cycle lost for underestimation. Palin was picked for imagery. And her prickly little tongue that says all the right things globalized corporate republican puppeteers want/need to hear.

republicans have learned and changed like the changeling's they are like a viral strain they've adapted. Palin was handpicked to appeal by way of imagery, to the kinder, gentler, warmer, fuzzier...reptilian brain. Time to get busier.
