Rasmussen Daily: Obama 47 - 43 McCain (Obama down 1), with leaners 50 - 45 |

Swamp Thing and Rubber Face made a negligible impact. I suspect Palin and McPOWWOW's speeches will make it very, very close for a few days come the weekend. http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_presidential_election/daily_presidential_tracking_poll

1. Did last nights speech impact this poll, or do we have to wait a day to get a firm grip on it? |

2. Have to wait until tomorrow. |
|
I think their polling from yesterday will have been earlier than McTrash's speech.

6. Before Palin’s speech... |
|
Frm the poll:
"Virtually all of the interviews for today’s update were completed before Alaska Governor Sarah Palin’s speech last night."

I was looking at the page with previous polls and mistook the top one for today's, and the one below for yesterday's. Ha!

7. Notice McCain's numbers aren't really increasing |
|
Not surprised given the negative tone of the Repuke convention. I'm not sure we'll see much of a Palin and McSame bounce. Palin was just preaching to the choir, while Obama was speaking to everyone.

8. With leaners included it's 50-45 for Obama, no change from yesterday |
|
but I expect to see that the GOP will get a modest boost from their convention, then it will swing back to Obama.
