indicating that they are parents of an active duty serviceperson.

It's got to be something else. It's not the Alaskan flag, either! Or the US!

31. It demonstrates how isolated the military and military service are...
in large sections of our society.

If a wider swath of the population had kids serving, I like to think we wouldn't be in Iraq. It wasn't a comment on the original poster. Sorry if it seemed that way.

I zoomed in on hers, and it has a complete red border and it looks like a 5-pointed star, not the 6-pointed Star of David.

the symbol for Blue Star Parents.

Giver her a break. Her international knowledge is limited to reading the Old Testament, listening to Edmonton Oilers games, and worrying about illegal immigrants from Kamchatka.
