4. A Democratic presidential candidate is in a special position.
I don't ordinarily like Democratic politicians going on O'Reilly's show. I consider Bill O'Reilly to be deceptive and obnoxious.

However, Obama is running for a national office and O'Reilly has a national TV show. Maybe this will help.

9. We shall see.
Obama had better be ready to tear him a new one. I predict O'liely will start off whining about how Obama has rejected his invitations for so long. See, it's all about him.

15. The audience will largely be O'Reilly fans.
Obama needs to act respectful to O'Reilly if he's going to win them over.

19. Well I'm not saying he should provoke a fistfight.
But if he doesn't react in kind to an O'Reilly attack, viewers will see that as a sign of weakness and nothing else. They're not normal people. They don't think like you and me.

Oh, anyone at all notice how much more air time these pugs are getting over the Dems.. Its kinda disgusting..

14. Not sure about that...
I think it may be just before the McSame Bullshit. I don't think Obama should dignify the O'Reilly Show...it's totally undeserved. If (when) O'Rielly goes rude on Obama, Barach will try to take the high road. O'Reilly will do whatever he can to drag Obama into the pigslop. Remember what they say about wrestling with pigs...pretty soon you realize that the pig is enjoying it. Obama could find better use for his (and our) time, seems to me.

23. You're right.
I was going by this thing that I linked upthread:

Obama set to appear on The O'Reilly Factor
SIRI AGRELL

September 4, 2008

Democrat Barack Obama will appear on the Fox News show The O'Reilly Factor tonight, after his Republican rival John McCain makes his prime-time address at the convention. It will be the first time Mr. Obama has appeared on the show and the pretaped, multipart interview will reportedly air over several days.

In January, conservative host Bill O'Reilly tried to speak to Mr. Obama at a New Hampshire rally and got into a scuffle with a campaign staffer who blocked his path. Mr. Obama has reportedly met with network executives to discuss how his campaign has been covered on Fox.

But this is bad scoop unless he's making an exception to have Obama on at around 11 PM. O'Lielly is on at 8 PM Eastern, 5 PM Pacific. It's rerun a couple of times the same night but I couldn't stand to look at his website long enough to note those times. Almost lost my breakfast. And the jackass started talking just as soon as I hit his site so I had to hit mute.

McLame will be on at 10 PM EDT tonight.

11. I hate, hate, hate O'Reilly,
(I know, that's ugly) but I think it's a good idea.
I think Obama can show they don't intimidate him in the least and maybe, just maybe he will slap O'reilly upside his stupid head.

12. I think its a smart move, he'll hit the McCain slime attacks head on and early
Cause you know Oliely is going to be all about AYERS and REZIKO and WRIGHT an nauseum.

Obama can meet these criticisms head on and smack them down.

13. Obama will do just fine. I have no doubt that he can handle O'Reilly.
Obama's honesty, intelligence, and obvious ability to handle difficult situations will overcome any weird spin O'Reilly will try to accomplish. Having truth on his side can't hurt either. If Obama can turn me (very strongly republican for 20 yrs) around and get my vote and money, then he can certainly deal with anything that silly network can dish out. I haven't been so excited about a presidential candidate in my entire life. I welcome any chance for Obama to get through to people like I used to be.

21. We're all in trouble if he can't
I'm sure this won't be a problem but if Obama couldn't handle O'Reilly then he really isn't presidential material.

27. Let us not forget that O'Reilly has said that he and McCrazy are white supremacist leaders.
Might be a good topic for discussion.

"They want to breakdown the white Christian male power structure of which {McCain is} a part, and so am I. And they want to bring in millions of foreign nationals to basically breakdown the structure that we have. In that regard, Pat Buchanan is right."
