In other words, Mr. McCain, despite his exalted POW history and maverick image, has shown clearly by this appointment that he is given to risky impulse and doesn't have the sober judgment to be president of the United States.

September 4, 2008
McCain's cynical ploy

As a mayor, for example, she hired a lobbyist linked to Sen. Ted Stevens and Alaska’s voracious appetite for federal earmarks to obtain millions of taxpayer dollars for municipal projects, money her hometown still depends on.

And about the fabled “bridge to nowhere,” which Governor Palin claimed to have rejected. A closer look reveals that she was an avid proponent of that $200 million boondoggle before she was against it.

.......................

Despite these contradictions with the Republican candidate’s message, it is obvious that Mr. McCain would very much like to shift the public conversation to superficial aspects of Governor Palin’s story - beauty queen/family-values mom/courageous political outsider - and away from a detailed examination of what he intends to do about such pesky issues as a never-ending foreign war, the energy crisis, and the crushing national debt.

He does not want the public to fully comprehend how he has been a compliant force in the U.S. Senate toward perpetuating these problems and has, at the end of the day, no real solutions to present to the American people.

4. It's Working on Fundies
I think that was their goal.... but in doing so, they have exposed a hidden aganeda by the religious right wing in this country.

5. Palin is quickly making herself out to be one of the most deceitful candidates
to have ever run for the vice presidency.

I honestly don't think McCondo would have picked her knowing all of this stuff.
I think she lied straight to his old, pasty, wrinkly face and she knew he'd buy everything she said because she knows how to use charm to convince people to believe her.
McCondo is going to get pissed off the moment it dawns on him that she lied and she will be out on her ass.. cuz the little guy does have a major sized temper problem.

6. Liberals have been accused of "not getting" the conservative take on
life's values and institutional operating systems. If I believed in soap-opera "reality" would that be closer to understanding "the other side"? Although I could never live my life like the people I've seen at the RNC, or in FundyWorld, I am very tired of being clobbered by them. I fear and loathe the skewing world my children are inheriting.
