McCain: Where's my bounce at, bitches!!!!!!!!!
Gallup, McCain down one from yesterday (Obama up 7 on him)
Rasmussen, McCain same as yesterday (Obama up 5 on him)

This time last week the MSM meme was "where's Obama's convention bounce?"

So where's McCain's bounce? I don't see a bounce. His convention's not working. The message is all wrong. The Republican Party is in disarray. Romney and McCain supporters hate each other. Palin was a bad pick. Disunity disunity disunity. The stage is too fancy or not fancy enough. McCain will have to knock the ball out of the park tonight or it's over. The voters have tuned out. Nobody cares about John McCain anymore. Chris Matthews hates Keith Olbermann. It's over. Whoa is me.

Actually, the polls will tell us more this time next week, obviously. I'm just sayin' is all.

3. They're still in the middle of the script. After tonight, we'll see.
A backward bounce would be great. Look at how Ghouli set Palin up with his attack on community organizers. This whole scripted convention will set up McCain' speech. Of course we already know about McCain the liar and what a low-life he has become.

11. this tracking was before the Palin speech. I will wait............

...........The results are based on interviewing conducted Sept. 1-3. The vast majority of interviews on Wednesday evening were conducted before Sarah Palin gave her much-anticipated convention speech. However, the data do indicate that the initial first two nights of the convention -- the slimmed down Monday program in deference to Hurricane Gustav and Tuesday's speeches headlined by former senator Fred Thompson -- have, so far, done little to change voter preferences.

Thursday's interviewing will be the first to reflect the immediate impact of Palin's speech, and the coming days will give a truer measure of the effect the GOP convention -- including McCain's acceptance speech tonight -- is having on voters. Obama got a four percentage point increase in his share of the vote in Gallup Poll Daily tracking coming out of the Democratic convention last week, establishing a lead over McCain after the two had been exactly tied immediately prior to last week's convention. 12. Unless Senator McCain can give a "clinic" of a speech tonight...
I doubt he will get MUCH of a bounce at all. Palin did nothing to appeal to leaners last night, NOTHING. She fired up the people that were going to vote for John McCain anyway.

I'm inclined to think that McCain's speech tonight will be good, but not great. However, I don't count anyone out. He might still have a little left in the tank to swing some people. But to do that, he is going to have to channel John McCain 2000... and that risks turning off a portion of the base that just became energized.
