Why has Palin not had a press conference yet? |
|
Edited on Thu Sep-04-08 12:23 PM by Gman
It's been just about a week since she was announced, she made her speech last night, and she still has not met with the press. Why is she dodging the press? Will she ever meet with the press before the election? How long can they "hide" her. How long can they keep her under wraps while letting her loose to be the attack dog?

They can't have her trying to answer hard questions, can she, so the journalists have to be "persuaded" to give her softballs...

She's still being schooled.
Add to that the fact that she's never been in front of one of the national politcal journalists and that should tell the tale. These people are honed in their ability to throw politicians off track and get them off their talking points. Tweety is a master of this.
My guess is, she goes on Faux first.

But I really think that they will try to keep her away from the press. Right now they are beating the media into submission so that they will make her out to be a hero first. Just look at the headlines and the stories on her today. It is enough to make you puke. I can see what is happening already.

the policy questions that the GOP needs to fudge to get elected. The way Bushes always stand on both sides of abortion - notice they always let it be known that MRS. BUSH is pro-choice while the MR. is always anti-choice. Get it? They know Palin doesn't have that type of dance down yet.

|

Or Clinton/Bosnia style?
I dont see it.
In fact, as another DUer said, I've seen better scripted rivalries on Reality TV shows than this "GOP vs. the Liberal Media" jive...
As I've said a jillion times before- DEMOCRATS with microphones and cameras in front of them are almost soley responsible for attacking & scrutinizing Republicans- the media will only act out attacks & scrutiny to a point.
Hey- I hope to be wrong about this- but I have never seen the media itself actively derail top Republicans- or go after them in a way that ends their careers.
On the few occasions that Republican scandals have taken down someone, it has been because DEMS with media access kept pushing the issue (an actual example escapes me- Tom DeLay, Scooter Libby, I guess? )
I dont think I've ever disagreed with you before- but I think this "wait until our vigilant media gets a hold of these lying Republicans" talk that I've been hearing is misguided- and certainly not backed up by their record last 10 or so years...

This was a total blunder on behalf of the GOP and now they're going to try to hide how bad of a mistake it really was, but keeping her shielded from the media.
Total phoney ...

She will take her case directly to the people. She won't be talking to the press.
Gee...ya think that's because she can make a speech and read a teleprompter..but has no clue how to answer a question?

31. She's a stealth candidate - like Bush was in 2000 |
|
In 2000, some people actually thought they were electing a compassionate conservative who could reach across the aisle, who was a uniter and not a divider, and who didn't believe in nation building. Bush proved he wasn't anything like that.
They're not going to let the American people get acquainted with the real Sarah Palin if they can help it. They intend to stealthily get her into office without running the gauntlet of questions that would expose her for who she really is, a crackpot, and what she believes in.
