Sarah Palin inspired ME.
Today at 3, I have an appointment with the campaign office here in NYC.

I've been on DU and other sites since 2006; I've been voting big D since 2000. But this is the first time I've ever worked for a political campaign before--I was always too cynical about hopping onto bandwagons. And then last night, by taking her inexplicable jabs at community organizers and the like, Sarah Palin held a mirror up to my cynicism and made me ask of myself: "Why am I not doing more for those around me this election season? Why make other people work harder on my behalf?"

I'm climbing aboard to prove to her that ordinary people, even those who haven't reached the lofty position of small-town mayor, CAN make a difference in this world. And hopefully, in two months that difference will come crashing down on her privileged little shoulders.

2. She inspired me to send $250 to Obama today.
I hope my DH doesn't mind eating rice and beans for a few weeks. :-)

4. Congratulations! Remember More Than 40% Of Eligible Voters Do Not Vote!
I think that's great. Even for those who are cynical about partisan politics, I think we can all agree about the need to get people to exercise their rights. Even during Presidential Elections, close to half of people don't vote, and their apathy is rewarded by a government that is apathetic about them.

I think the Big Media spin on Palin's speech shows you what we are up against. Get people to vote and listen, and make up their own minds, rather than relying on pundits to tell them what to think.

5. I am pushing
everyone I know who says they're unhappy with Bush and don't like McCain to register to vote and then GO VOTE if they want change! I don't want to hear them all whining after November. If you want change, then you must be the first one to change!

6. Congratulations.
I've been volunteering with Obama's campaign for three weeks and am now my town's team leader. I feel empowered.
