The Democrats' Sexist Non-Response

.....................

Of course she can read an effective speech. To think otherwise was naive and sexist. But again, I can't blame the media for switching off their Palin narrative at the drop of a snide slam, it's not their job to bring the GOP Vice Presidential nominee down to size. It's the Democrats' job and they are failing miserably.

................

She's taken no stands on any foreign policy issue -- other than to call the Iraq War "God's work." And on most domestic issues, she's stayed under the radar. Democrats should be out there every day demanding that McCain remove the tape from her mouth and put her on Meet the Press. Of course now that the press has been forced to carry all the water, the campaign has a credible reason why she'll choose to stay away and will instead deliver last night's speech hundreds more times over the next 60 days.

People are asking "where's Hillary", as if she's obliged to take on Palin -- or Gov. Sebelius or Gov. Napolitano or Sen. Feinstein. Please ... this is ridiculous. We have a Vice Presidential nominee, Joe Biden, and it's his job to treat Gov. Palin like a dangerous lunatic who wants to force our children to grow up in an abstinence only education, forced creationism, bare-shelved library, plutocratic tax policy hell.

And if people are offended, let them be offended. The only way to fight the Palin propaganda is to give the American people the facts and let them decide for themselves.

1. And it's SO easy to attack her.
The "What does the VP do?" clip should be our version of "I voted for it before I was against it."

2. Look how the RW savaged Hillary in the '90s.
The gloves are off, and I sincerely hope that the Obama campaign realizes this.

3. Every time we get a Republican on the ropes it's the same story.
"Oh Noooooo!!! don't over do it!"

Screw it! Give her hell and if she doesn't like it give her more.

4. Relax step back
Let her keep attacking and building up the attack dog image. She is making an ass of herself. No need to close your eyes and swing wildly. Stay calm and wait till she puts her foot in her mouth and then push her over.

5. the Sting has already been organized. the gloves really can't come off until this
convention is over.

This Democratic campaign is a smart campaign and it is different. I expect interesting and well planned responses.

6. I agree with you

I really don't see the "let's ignore the jabs and turn the other cheek" attitude of 2004. I just say wait till Friday after the convention and let loose with some well placed surgical strikes. Swinging wildly at this point would be stupid.

7. Why are people so damned impatient.
I think the internets and the 24/7 news cycle has really distorted some people's perspectives.

The convention isn't even over and Palin has been attacked by the media since the day she was announced.

If you expect anything substantial before Monday, then you are just putting yourself through unneeded pain.

And honestly, if it were me, I'd wait till October before dealing out the "good stuff" on Palin.
