1. Yes, but only if somebody points it out to them.
Like any other issue, if it doesn't get air-play, it doesn't exist.

2. I don't understand why Dems don't play this in their top five.

4. My theory is, because....
they have so many issues to choose from (because the GOP fucked up so many, many things), and they have chosen some traditional kitchen-table issues that people are more familiar with. Health care, jobs, etc.

Just a theory, of course. I think they could add some good topics to their list and still cover everything. One thing I think about Obama's campaign is, that although it's better than Gores and Kerry's campaign, you can still see some influences from 2000 and 2004 in their approach. They could move farther out along their vector, and be even more effective.

5. The thing is that Pukes ALWAYS use taxes in their top five.
Successfully.

And it doesn't even begin with a G.

7. The Dems have a reflexive fear of confronting the GOP on taxes.
I cannot completely blame them, since the GOP so successfully used taxation to beat them like a whipped dog. But if they ever stand up and make the argument without sounding all apologetic, I think they'll find the GOP is a paper tiger. As usual.
