This makes Alaskans 10 times more socialist than the rest of the nation, making Alaska the most socialist of all states. So, they talk a good game of rugged individualism and frontier independence, but they suckle at the federal teat like no other state in the union.

The small town of Wasilia, curiously, receives 1000 (one thousand) dollars per capita in congressional earmark money. This makes Wasilians 20 times more socialistic than the national average.
