Who needs San Francisco anyway?
In the middle of her screed last night Sarah Palin criticized Obama/Biden for saying one thing in Scranton and another in San Francisco. She's clearly trying to marginalize San Francisco in the eyes of Red Staters as a bunch of hippies. In other words, "Who needs San Francisco?"

For fun, let's make a list for Sarah of the many ways Americans rely on Bay Area ingenuity....

We can start with the Yahoo email account that she used to http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/09/03/AR2008090303210_pf.html">harshly criticize Alaska state troopers and in an attempt to influence former public safety commissioner, Walter Monegan.

1. As someone who used to live in San Francisco, I say
Welcome to DU! :toast:

I'm so bloody sick of these rightwing freaks bashing wonderful, beautiful, cosmopolitan cities like San Francisco. I think they're jealous because most of their podunk towns have nothing going for them except maybe a Quicky Mart or something.

3. In all honesty, San Francisco really doesn't matter.
I mean we only get 0.83 of a vote compared to the national average while the votes of the people in Wasilla AK get 2.5 times the weight of the national average. Since the vote of a Californian only counts 1/3 as much as that of an Alaskan, we are clearly unimportant.
