Dean on MSNBC now.
Edited on Thu Sep-04-08 03:14 PM by mzmolly
Good stuff.

Said first half of Palin's speech was great, the second half smacked of Dick Cheney - same old canards about Dems that are untrue. Said it was more of the same....

Dean paraphrased ~ Palin said she was against the bridge, she was for it. Said she was against lobbyists she hired one to get pork for Alaska. Has a 95K problem in Alaska for troope-rgate. She's not a reformer, she's not an outsider. This is Bush/Cheney all over again, we can't afford it.

Dean's informal focus group (women who work with Mrs. Dean) said they didn't like Palin's tone in the later part of the speech.

Edited to update info on his remarks.

2. He addressed Palins record in Alaska, pointed out that tax payers
are defending her to the tune of 95K for the abuse of power investigation. He noted her tone was harsh and similar to the Bush/Cheney tone we are tired of as a Nation.

I'll rewind and post more in a bit.

3. Brokaw asked for Dean's reaction to Palin's speech,
Dean said first half (her story) was interesting, second half sounded just like Cheney! Brokaw showed new Obama add - great stuff - has Bush and McCain voices played together saying exact same words 'the economy is strong'.

4. He's calling out all of the blatant lies from yesterday.
Brokaw is such a tool. Great new ad comparing Bush/McCain on economy.

5. howard dean was saying
"We all know that Palin is not really a reformer, from what we're finding out. The media got booed here last night, and why? Because they told the truth." Brokaw interrupted him, and I missed the next question. Then, Dean said "The minnesota economy is not doing so well right now, name me one thing that the speakers offered that would make the lives of those people better? They didn't offer anything." (this is all that I caught, roomate then changed the channel).

6. He blasted Lieberman, Romney, Ghouliani, Palin as masquerading as reformers
and asking the audience and Brokaw to name one single time the GOP talked about the economy, health care, etc. etc. Howard Dean was great and it looks like we are going on the attack this time. No swiftboating this time, the GOP has to own up to their miserable failure.
