All those who think Wednesday evening was the ultimate GOP Hatefest, check in here.
I have been watching conventions since 1960, and have never seen anything filled with more raw Hate (with a capital H) than Romney, Giuliani and Palin last night, and the "delegates" responding with a kind of drooling passion not seen since Nuremberg. Raw, pure Hatred. That's all they have to offer to America.

And yes, I remember Pat Buchanan in 1992, and Zell Miller in 2004.

But I have never seen the raw, dripping Hatred that I saw last night.

What say you?

3. lol!
It's definitely the worst I've seen, but I usually skip the RNC, so I can't say if it was worse than usual or not.

Those photos of people wearing purple heart bandaids four years ago made me sick, though.

9. I'm not watching this time. I've had enough.
I regret that I watched last night.

Sarah Palin read the lines written for her with passion. Passionate hatred. She is clearly an awful person.

4. It was pretty bad
I'm not really surprised, but the level of anger they showed was very astonishing.

5. I could feel Pat Buchanan in practically every syllable last night ...
No wonder she supported him ... She wants to re-ignite the
"holy cultural war" that Uncle Pat first touched on.

They can't stand peace, not in the world and certainly not
in this country. DIVIDE AND CONQUER is their M.O.

But we must REMEMBER LAST WEEK! That stadium was full of
80K+ people, UNITED. This is their reaction to WHAT WE DID.
We must keep going, and keep believing that the people are
waking up to these crass political tactics that make a
MOCKERY of their campaign slogan, "Country First."

6. I refuse to give the RNC TV Ratings.
I have heard excerpts today on the Randi Rhodes Show, and it made me sick. Especially the former governor of my state, Mittens. :puke:

Caribou Barbie is in a class by herself. The speech was definitely ghost written by Rove.

7. Could very well be the worst. Why are they so angry?
It's not like they haven't been in charge of our nation's destiny for 8 years. Maybe they're afraid that they're going to lose their cash cow: the U.S. Treasury.

What makes it more striking is the way the Dems conducted their convention. We're the ones who should be angry. Angry as heck!

10. it was the worst thing I've seen - ever
ridiculing those who work - who work HARD at helping the less fortunate, kids who need help, older people who need a hand - it's totally repulsive.

I cannot watch tonight. It seriously bothered me so much I felt like crying.

12. I have yet to watch the speech, I've read more than enough here
to form a conclusion, saw that nasty cnn photo this morning and it all screamed: HATEFEST (and something else I'm a little afraid to wrap my mind completely around)

19. Panoramic Views of Smugness, Complacency and Greed
I'm told there were some 20,000 delegates at the RNC, of which 36 were people of color. As the TV camera panned the room, I was fascinated to see all the old, rich, well fed, well dressed, morally self-satisfied Republicans who reeked of "prosperity". Yes, there was no need for the speakers to address problems of mortgage foreclosures, job loss, over-whelming medical bills, raising the minimum wage in that bunch. The Republicans -- with their tax cuts and removal of corporate regulations, with their no bid contracts and wars for oil -- have served this small group of people very well. Most of their "issues" have been well taken care of -- they only have one issue to address now: making sure that the Bush-Cheney policies are kept firmly in place. Their fierce hatred of Democrats stems from their fear that some small part of their wealth and power may be taken away from them.

We witnessed last night the raw hatred of the rich for the poor, for the community organizers and the communities in which they work. These folks will not give up their power lightly, even if they lose the election. The police riots and massive violations of Constitutional rights which took place on the very door step of the Convention hall shows what they are capable of doing to keep their powers. Yup, there is a class war going on and their class is winning, as Warren Buffet is reported to have said. But, hopefully enough community organizers will be energized by inspiration of Obama and spectre of a McCain-Palin victory that our communities will be well organized to win in November.
