2. Who is saying it wasn't working?

The story is that it got a few pages ahead because of the applause being too long at some points. Even Olbermann pointed that out last night and said it happens sometimes and that she handled it well.

4. that doesn't make sense at all.
not dissing you, but if pauses for audiences are not considered in teleprompterland then they're a bunch of incompetent dumbasses.

what's for a pause button to be pushed to wait for the crowd or is that too tough a job for a repug?

Brokaw, iirc, is the one regaling her impromptuitiveness and genius about not having to use the prompter, and he's an asshole of the widest order. don't believe him

3. Politico.com disputes that claim.

The claim was picked up by the highly-trafficked Drudge Report, immediately launching it into the larger conversation. According to Jonathan Martin at Politico, however, it isn’t accurate.

“Perhaps there were moments where it scrolled slightly past her exact point in the speech,” Martin wrote. “But I was sitting in the press section next to the stage, within easy eyeshot of the Teleprompter. I frequently looked up at the machine, and there was no serious malfunction. A top convention planner confirms this morning that there were no major problems.”
