Anybody hear Hastert talking about the mediocrity of
Palin's constituents?

MINNEAPOLIS--Former House Speaker Dennis Hastert led a rally of Illinois convention delegates around the Republican vice presidential selectee, Sarah Palin, saying she represents an important wing of the GOP that isn't the privileged.

In describing what Hastert called the "Sarah Palin part of the party, the former eight-year House speaker sounded as if the Alaska governor's constituency were that of another governor who also was considered by Sen. John McCain for the GOP's No. 2 spot--Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty. Pawlenty has proclaimed the need for Republicans to reach out to "Sam's Club" Republicans rather than being the party of the country club.

"Their kids aren't going to go to Ivy League schools. Their sons leave high school and join the military to serve our country. Their husbands and wives work two jobs to make sure the family is sustained," Hastert, of Oswego, told the delegates.

"Their idea of government is really the ground up kind of government," he said. "You start in the PTA, you are a soccer mom or hockey mom in this case, you do the city council and the finally you may become mayor of a small town or on a county board."

Their kids aren't going to Ivy League schools. You know why, you fat fuck? They're too stupid to get in. Track couldn't get in to the University of Alaska because his GPA was so fucking low. If one of mine got into an Ivy League school, I'd sell my damned kidney if I had to to pay for it.

What a fucking dumbass. Yup. Let's never reach for the stars.
