Psst. In the fundraising emails does anyone notice? |
|
I think they ask for a specified amount based on your past donations. I recently matched donations to the campaign in August and my fundraising emails are mentioning "$250 or more". In letters posted here I see "$25 or more" and on the Obama Blog I see no fundraising amount, just things like "your generous donation".
I think that my matching fest (which sadly has me flat broke - "but not flat busted" - oh Palin you witty witch, you) put me into this "$250" amount range. It's a very smart move of the Obama campaign to categorize those. Sending $250 to my dad would turn him off, but $25 wouldn't.
Has anyone seen any other amounts in their emails?
Just another example of how fine-tuned this community organizer's campaign is!

1. ROFL, I got this today from the DNC and my smallest contirbution has be $20, my largest $100 |
|
But worst of all -- and this deserves to be noted -- they insulted the very idea that ordinary people have a role to play in our political process.
You know that despite what John McCain and his attack squad say, everyday people have the power to build something extraordinary when we come together. Make a donation of $5 or more right now to remind them.
Both Rudy Giuliani and Sarah Palin specifically mocked Barack's experience as a community organizer on the South Side of Chicago more than two decades ago, where he worked with people who had lost jobs and been left behind when the local steel plants closed.

2. I have gotten amounts ranging from $5 to $50; I have given more than that in the past. |

3. OK so this begs the question... |
|
Why do they want to soak me for $250? ;)
I feel a little inadequate when I get that one and I can only afford $50 right now. Come on guys, make me feel good about myself! Make me feel like I exceeded expectations just a little?
;)

6. Don't feel inadequate, ever. Every bit helps. I'm pretty strapped this week myself. |
|
I made $50 last week doing a couple quick commercial voice-overs. I told my husband I wanted to donate it.

4. My e-mails say $100 because I somehow became pissed off enough that I stopped the $25 and $50 dollar |
|
donations and started giving $100. The e-mails are definitely customized to the amount the person generally donates.
