Follow my twisted logic here, but... I think the media wants McCain to lose |
|
They are attempting to placate the McCain camp by praising Palin, while they know that most normal Americans were simply not convinced or completely turned off by her last night. This convinces McCain to keep her on the ticket, thereby assuring their eventual defeat. I think they are doing this because McCain has made an enemy of them. We already know how even the conservative talking-heads REALLY feel (at least a couple of them) after the microphone gaffe. I really think all of this Palin praise is song and dance designed to backfire on the McCain camp.

4. They are certainly selling the drama. |

But I can't figure out any other reason why they are praising the shit out of Palin. If they weren't and were bashing her like we are, it would be generating just as much interest, ratings-wise. That's what's throwing me off.

The race has gone off in a totally unexpected direction, and the media is just trying to keep up.

Your logic is flawed from the very outset. There is no plan. There is no "they" who want. There is only thick ideology that infects the whole scene. there is no intention one way of the other.

10. That's how ideology works |

Do you get a DU memo every day when you come here? No. Is there some collective force here with a set of fixed positions and intertests? No. But ideology tends to cluster positions.

8. I think they are afraid to say what they think |

I think they really have been reined in by the Liberal Media attacks...so much so that they are reluctant to call it bullshit even when it stinks up the room. They feel obliged by their corporate masters to pretend the race is a real match, in the name of being "fair".
One thing he Republicans have learned and learned well is that it does not matter if you lie, in fact it is best to Lie Big and, if you are found out, don't defend yourself, just repeat the lies and add some new ones to bolster them up. No one seems to notice, or even if they do, eventually they stop mentioning it so you will carry the day in the end.
