Should Obama/Biden counterpunch any differently with Palin because she is a woman?
I say no!

Yet others in the corporate MSM have suggested that Biden needs to be careful that he does not come across as patronizing to her in their debate (because he is debating a woman and women are sensitive to that).

We can't have Obama and Biden walking on egg shells concerned that when they call her on her bullshit, that they will be perceived as "sexist".

Can we move forward and have a vigorous and forceful debate in response to Sarah's lies and be gender-blind? I hope so!

The rethugs may play the sexist card when they can for sympathy votes, but it will be part of a campaign of distraction. If Sarah is being picked on, she can avoid answering important questions.

As an aside, I don't think Barack held back with Hillary - but the press had the sexist radar on 24/7.

2. I think this topic is totally worn out...
people have discussed it to death. In my opinion anyway.

7. Get used to it - Obama just mentioned it today
Obama today: (paragraph 4)

"I think she's got a compelling story. But I assume she wants to be treated the same way that guys want to be treated, which means that their records are under scrutiny. I've been through this for nineteen months. She's been through it what, four days so far?"

We will be riding this horse all the way to election day.

3. NO. She came out punching last night and needs to be shown
that "politics ain't bean bag." If she wants to fight with
the boys, then Sarah Barracuda has to deal with the bruises.

And this can be done without mentioning her FAMILY or the
National Enquirer-type scandals. It can be done simply by
calling her out on her LIES and her RECORD, which does not
entitle her to the label "reformer."

4. Of course not.
Biden should not hesitate to rip Palin a new one in the debate.

5. Joe has so much savvy, he will tear her to bits with a smile.
I'm sure he will be charming, funny but dead serious in countering her at the debates. How can any sane person think that she can compete with someone with 35 years of experience. I am a woman and I feel insulted that the repub's think this kind of idiotic choice will get my vote.

Obama was wrong to frame the experience issue by comparing his running for POTUS against her being mayor and ignoring that she is a sitting Gov.

IMO Joe's comment on the debates was just right.

10. No they shouldn't and I don't think they will. Neither Barack nor Joe
fight anyone the way the media is talking about. One "talker" said he won't be able to step from behind the lecturn and invade her space. That's not Joe's MO.

I've been very pleased with their responses so far. Joe said she gave a good speech, but I was very disappointed in not hearing anything about the middle class, the economy, etc. Barack was asked if he had any response to Palin, and he said "I'm not running against Gov. Palin, I'm running against Jhon McCain!"

or

Did you actually sell that plane on eBay and what did you did with the money, bitch?

there is absolutely no need for the second kind of question. here or anywhere.

Seriously. It's perfect.

And you know what? This is twice tonight that we have come up with real zingers for the Obama/Biden campaign. I mean, real lulus. We would be writing for them.

BTW, here's the other that almost had me falling out of my chair:

19. sadly correct. look at the way the media completely spun the debates in 00 and 04.
if she's still around in a month (please, lord, let that enquirer story be true), the media will only amplify their love for her, and biden will be caught in a no win situation

no matter how well he does, she'll be seen as holding her own, at worst, as long as she doesn't ralph onstage, in which case Biden will be blamed for being too mean.

17. No. If she dishes it out, she has to take it.
This is the way to treat a bully, even a bullyette: When he/she punches you in the nose, you punch him/her back in the nose twice as hard and kick him in the balls and her in the face. Then you knock him/her down and stomp on him/her with football cleats.

Can you tell I'm angry?????

20. There's no need to do anything differently. Obama's main opponent this election season
has been Hillary and he found a way to disagree with her without any problems. If anything, Hillary gave Barack a lot of practice in this area. I'm sure Biden will be brought up to speed by Barack's people on anything that needs to be changed from the norm.. if anything at all.
