Rep. Westmoreland (R-GA) uses racist code word when discussing the Obamas
This kind of talk cannot be tolerated. Here is a link to an article on The Hill site. I have
included his contact information for anyone who cares to contact him about it.

Westmoreland calls Obama ‘uppity'

Georgia Republican Rep. Lynn Westmoreland used the racially-tinged term "uppity" to describe Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama Thursday.

Westmoreland was discussing vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin's speech with reporters outside the House chamber and was asked to compare her with Michelle Obama.

"Just from what little I’ve seen of her and Mr. Obama, Sen. Obama, they're a member of an elitist-class individual that thinks that they're uppity," Westmoreland said.

Asked to clarify that he used the word “uppity,” Westmoreland said, “Uppity, yeah.”

1. Code word gives it too much credit.
It's just plain racist.

4. It's amazing that republicans still support people like this

It should be an embarrassment, but they seem to just turn their heads the other way.
When dems have an unsavory person in office, they shoo 'em away-like the mayor of
Detroit- he was told he wasn't welcome at the convention, and he got the message and
stepped down.

6. Here's a my message to him (copy and pasted)
Mr. Westmoreland,

You're racist terminology is shocking to me in this day and age. I thought the
state of Georgia has evolved beyond the dark days when uneducated boys
clubs decided who was worthy of respect, and who wasn't. This type of language
from a representative, no less, is plain old disgusting to me.

I will spread this interview you had around to all of my friends, my family, my
colleagues and the community online sites I visit. I have no respect for someone
who hates good people because of their color. You, Mr. Westmoreland, are a racist,
and thankfully, a dying breed. I don't think you have deservedly earned your position.

I have family members in Georgia, and they will not support you after I expose you
for what you are; a racist.
