OK, the term "Baby Farm" Sexist?
I just heard someone say that about Palin just now. It was my mom.

1. It's pretty bad unless one wants to denigrate all women with 5 or more kids

2. Why the hell should it be sexist? Where do you buy YOUR babies?
Oh, wait a minute...

Yeah, it's sexist. It seems that it can have an affectionately humorous component if used to describe a loved one or oneself, but it seems almost inevitable that it'll come off as sexist if used to describe anyone else.

3. I use it sarcastically sometimes to refer to the way anti-choicers view women.
I'd call it sexist when used in earnest.

4. I usually hear "baby factory" or "baby making machine"...
I don't think it's sexist. It's more culturally belittling, if anything. For instance, I constantly refer to that Duggar woman as a "baby factory" (as does my Smithie sister). I don't believe I'm being sexist--I'm insulting her (idiotic and stupid) religious beliefs that relegate her to such a pointless existence.

5. I don't really find it sexist.
It's not a comment about her as a woman. It's a comment about having so many kids. She's a baby farm. And Todd's the sperminator. What's the problem?

6. Not only is it sexist, it makes for a jarring visual.
