1. Remember the very first episode of Night Court? |
|
Everybody's standing around, wondering when the new judge would arrive. A guy carrying a box walks in, and the staff tells the "kid" to put the stuff on the desk. After a while, they realize that the "kid" was Judge Harry T. Stone, newly appointed to fill the position.
As it went on, people found out that he got the job because he was home when they called. The last person on the list. BECAUSE HE WAS HOME ... Everybody else on the list was out somewhere (answering machines were still kinda rare).
I think that a similar situation happened with Sarah Palin ... everybody else "wasn't home" ... (not answering the phone ... I mean, who wants the steerage section of the Titanic?) ...
One big difference ... Harry T. Stone was qualified. He had to be, to be on the list. Sarah Palin? ... she answered the phone ...
