I think the unemployment rate jump is going to put a damper on an RNC bump |
|
I also think the fact that so many people tuned into to see John McCain will hurt him about as much as it will help him. His speech sucked and wasn't the least bit inspirational. The fact that Sarah Palin's speech overshadowed McCain's can't be good for him considering he is the top of the ticket.
I expect to see a small bump for McCain, perhaps it will be tied but that isn't enough. If the Republicans can bash Obama for a week and then just break even, that would mean they are doomed.

1. You're expecting a bump? For the 'Pugs? |
|
That was a seriously suck-ass convention. I wouldn't be surprised if the Dems got a bump from it.

The MSM has been working overtime trying to insure they get one, but it wont be the big one they've been pushing for.

7. The only bump would be in the pants of convention-going males |
|
trying to get close to Palin.
Other than that, it was a non-event.

with people who bought into that convention.
my conclusion: the propaganda works on approximately one half of the nation. they absolutely believe the only way they are safe is to be protected by the repukes. the only way to heaven is to follow them.

Who's going to notice? They're too busy enthralled with the "pitbull in lipstick" and the "Maverick POW." The Conservatives control the discourse. The unemployment rate (how many people even know that above 5.3-5.6% unemployment is bad anyway? Will a 6.1% unemployment rate phase all those non-college grads? I don't want to sound elitist, but I doubt many people know even the bare basics of the unemployment rate) pales in comparison to the bullshit about Obama being "elite," and McCain and Palin being "Maverick, down-to-earth reformers."
Maybe I'm just too cynical.

What with the Electoral College and all.
A post-convention "bump in the polls" means "squat" anyways.
Watch Michigan, Ohio and PA.
