Think back to 2004, DUers
Edited on Fri Sep-05-08 08:50 PM by Condem
The Republican Convention. Labor Day Weekend. Kerry got absolutely hammered. Down 9% points. I remember it so well. Then came the debates. He did well. But, did he ever draw close? My point: Obama is there. A different ballgame. I don't feel the dread at all. We'll win. Guaranfuckinteed!

2. The debates got Kerry back into this thing...
Obama is in a far different position than Kerry was in 2004. Kerry, at this time, was close to losing it altogether. I remember thinking we were on the brink of a blowout for Bush, but he got it together, drew close and ran out of time.

Kind of like Gore in 2000.

Obama, though, is in the position Clinton was in 1992. He's led nearly every day since winning the nomination and I don't expect that to change. If McCain sees a post-convention bump and finds himself ahead, it won't last.

3. Think back to the future?
;)

Hope you're right. I'm guardedly optimistic, mixed with overcast and light showers.

7. Fall has come early here in Iowa, Oregonian.
However, I don't think we're a swing state, anymore. Obama up by 13%. Before the repukes campfire, of course.

5. Americans care about two things:
What's the price of gas?

What's the price of a six-pack of beer.

The Pugs are thoroughly fucked this time around...

6. 6-packs have gone down, gas has not.
Have you seen the price of 30 packs lately? Cheap! They want us too drunk to drive.

18. haha, the place around our old house had kegs of Coors light for $65 bucks!
My husband and I used to joke about purchasing one. Common sense got a hold of us and it's been 30 packs since.

Can you imagine if 911 had to come and you had a keg in your bathroom with only 2 people there?

I lived with three other dudes. My university had a law that ordering kegs was pulic domain. Our house, I'm deeply ashamed to say, finished third. To Frats with 500 members. We all saw Animal House two weeks before we arrived. I was going to be a nuclear engineer. Now......

10. There is method in that madness...
The whole point is to keep the public drunk and stupid.

The only reason gas matters is because it impacts the cost of getting beer.

Let's see how long they can keep that up...

14. I hope so. But I also remember what a laughable JOKE Bush seemed like
in the debates and everywhere. And look what happened.

We need to work very hard the next 2 months.

Then Kerry kicked ass in the first debate. Still, that nagging doubt.
