small town resident morally superior?
Edited on Fri Sep-05-08 09:45 PM by TNMOM
Why is it assumed that "small town" America has better "values" than residents of bigger towns?
Why is it assumed that christians have better "values" than believers of other faiths/non-believers?

Having grown up in a small town --- population 6,000, I know first hand that evil lies there as well.
I have know many more "evil" people - including my abusive ex-spouse - who professed christianity.

Sarah Palin is not morally superior to the rest of us. I wouldn't be surprised if we found out that she has more skeletons in the closet, still....

1. Write your newspaper
about the bigotry of believing that small-town folks are somehow morally better than urban folks.

I've been both, and it just doesn't matter about the town.

4. They do not have to deal with many people, so they assume no
one knows.

5. I think that my city of New York is superior than most small towns
Flint, Michigan, for example, is very narrow-minded compared to my city. No town in Mississippi can be compared to the Capital of the World either. It may bother some, but some things are inherently more important and relevant than others.

6. Wasn't Palin the mayor of Plesantville?
I think that movie gave a pretty honest look at small town values then and now.
