OMG, Palin was freaking reading her speech with her hands today.
Is she kidding? Is she f*cking kidding me?

Somehow I ended up here, which has the video:

http://hotair.com/archives/2008/09/05/video-palin-hammers-obama-over-the-surge-in-wisconsin/

Idiotic POW crap *again*, but the main thing to notice is that she's freaking reading her prepared speech with her hands, while McSame looks on and pulls the strings.

These guys really think we're this stupid?

David

12. Right - the one she supposedly "memorized"...
Remember all the talk about the teleprompters failing and she went "from memory". Well she obviously has a very short memory!!

13. Yeah, that was hilarious, particularly since
she had to have new-clear spelled out phone-net-ick-ally for her. You'd think she could memorize that.

Just sad.

Forget Hillary; I say we sic Governor Patterson on her.

11. LOL!!!
Naw, not braile, she was following along word for word with her fingers as she *read* the speech, looking up only once in a while for emphasis. Like a really, really bad speech in High School English Class.

24. It reminds me of so many speeches given at high school graduation ceremonies
given in the most pedantic manner possible, while the parents adoringly look on.

9. That's what I couldn't help but notice. They aren't even her words.--
Edited on Fri Sep-05-08 11:36 PM by Indiana_Dem
She was reading the same lines from the stump speech she gave at the convention. There was nothing new and she was obviously nervous at one point--it seemed like she was losing it for a minute but then regained herself. Still, she just stood there and read it from the paper and the people were just yelling for THAT!?? I can't see how they could not see through that...I suppose they are just grasping for something/someone/anything to be fired up about. That side is truly a party of denial in more ways than one. They are grasping for straws. Well, at least the poor souls have some hope. Before that, it was absolutely pitiful. Obama and the whole Democratic party almost slam dunked 'em into history. They are probably so grateful for Palin because of this move. Otherwise, I don't think she'd be as admirable to the majority. They were toast and she is their last straw.

I truly hope their last straw slips through their fingers, unfortunately. I've had enough Republican domination in the 44 years I've been alive.

Please pray every day at noon for Obama. I'm trying to get as many together for a virtual prayer session every day at noon until the election is OVER! Pray for protection, strength, courage, optimism, hope for Obama and for the Dem party and its values. This is it!

Thanks.

17. Palin is going down. Not stepping down, but going down. She is mean, hateful, and vengeful.
Edited on Fri Sep-05-08 11:54 PM by wanpete
And it is apparent from this speech that she isn't ready to be VP (of course we all know this). She is reading a prepared speech and reading it horribly. There's not enough "prep time" to get her ready for prime time. At some point, she will be asked tough questions. And since I don't believe she can put up, she will just have to shut up.

Her "sensation" is a media creation. I'm not believing this spin and hype one bit.:puke:

29. What I love about Joe... is that he can't stick to the script...
He's looking all around the crowd, and faces remind him of other
people and other stories,
and he's rambling, and just being real.... himself!

He looks like he fits in with the people he's talking to,
slapping them on their back, grinning like he's the father of the bride.

He just fits.
And you believe him, and trust him.

Whereas... Cruella DeVille is a puppet on a string.
Real purty, but I don't trust her.

23. I have dialup and don't dare watch that, so...
can someone tell me this - are you guys saying that the vp candidate is using her finger to follow the lines of her speech? For real? Was this for part of the speech, or the whole thing? Did she look up from the pages a lot or just a few times?

I saw a brief clip, where she was using the tired old community organizer line, but she was looking up and so I have no feel for the rest of the speech. Gonna share this with dh, but it just sounds so fantastical that I want to be sure.

I don't expect anything good from this Palin person, but this sounds so bad that I find it discouraging that any presidential candidate would go this far to win that we'd all be subjected to something this ridiculous. It's a farce.

27. I didn't see her using her finger that much, but she spends 90% of the time looking down at
the paper, only occasionally glancing up at the crowd. It's really strange since it's the same talking points from her convention speech, yet she can't memorize a word of it.

Yes, I know, it's unfair to say that Sarah embarrasses ALL women--does Bush, for example, embarrass ALL men? (no)--but in your case, with Sarah being only the second executive level candidate......she just set you back a generation.

31. All of those events are heavily spiked with loudmouthed, diehard republicans for that exact purpose
I remember when Schwarzenegger deigned himself to (gasp) actually appear in one of the debates for Governor in 2003, he showed up armed with a handful of one liners, and of course the loud-mothed R supporters yelled and screamed at each one, but also at ordinary statements he made. "If zere is an obstacle, ve are going to find out vut is ze obstacle, then ve vill remove zat obstacle." YEAHHHH! RAHRR! WOOOOOO! YEEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHH! went the group of Rs at the back of the room, while everyone else sat there looking at each other.
