I Went Through 4 Rounds of Interviews for a Project Manager's Job |
|
Shouldn't a candidate for the second highest office in the land go through one?

1. You're Probably Actually Expected To Accomplish Something |

They obviously don't expect her to do anymore than EBAY shopping.

3. One is not enough for me |
|
I hire people all from time to time, There is a preliminary interview done by an off-site person, then I interview them once, HR interviews them, then I interview them again before letting my manager interview them.
That is no less than 5 interview for a non exempt salary position. We as the employers of the office of Vice President must be allowed to interview the candidate. The media should be demanding this for us.

5. But WHY were you interviewed so many times? |
|
Most likely, because those hiring you wanted to try and make sure that you would provide them with the services for which they were looking. However, in this case, they apparently thought that they already knew Palin would give them what they wanted: the fundamentalist Christian and hard-right vote. While these people probably never would have voted for Obama, I think that there is a very likely chance that they just might not have voted at all. Now, with Palin, they seem to have been energized to actually go out and support someone.
They apparently decided that they didn't need to interview her, and so far, it looks like they may have been right. She seems to be serving the purpose for which she was selected.
Now that they have decided that she is the person that they want, it is up to US to decide if we want to pick her for the job for which she is asking. It appears that some people know all that they need to know about her. I speculate that most people on this site already know all that they need to know about her as well.
Do YOU see any need to interview her further before you are able to make up your mind whether or not you want her for the job of VP? I'm pretty sure that *I* don't.

is that they do that many interviews because it spreads the blame if things go wrong later.

in this case, that doesn't seem like a good idea. If things go bad and McCain loses, from their perspective, it's probably best that they can place all of the blame squarely on him since he probably won't be running for president again in this lifetime.
