"unimportant" issues like Obama, the war, the constitution, the failing economy.

Why?

Edit: to add choice #7

2. Looks like the former. I should just go back to hiding the Palin threads.
It is tedious, but makes GD:P look much more issues oriented. :)

3. I'm finally starting to get sick of the Palin threads myself.
I was never really into the broken-water-gate story, but I thought the rest of them were pretty entertaining.

But now I think I've had Sarah Palin overload. Hopefully the rest of the country (and this board) will soon start feeling that way too.

4. Perhaps the approach of the first Obama-McCain debate will refocus attention
back to the top of the ticket. If Dan Quayle didn't keep Bush I from winning, VP's just don't make that much difference.

5. Other: We've known Palin for 8 days....McCain for at least 8 years
Palin's still fascinating because things are still coming out about her. We've known about McCain for ages.

6. Something new vs something old, eh. Could be. I wonder if Pawlenty
had gotten the VP nomination whether we would be going through the same "getting to know you" phase. But even he had probably been vetted by their side and investigated by our side more than Palin was going into this.
