Why are McCain and Palin's children allowed to go to Iraq, but not Prince Harry?
Note: This is in no way trying to bash anyone or anything. Just a question that I don't completely understand.

Remember how Prince Harry couldn't go to Iraq because he could potentially be a high-profile target that insurgents could use for propaganda purposes or whatever if they were to capture him?

How is that different from McCain and Palin's sons going into Iraq? Is it just because Prince Harry was a much more recognizable face? Could someone explain this for me please?

1. Joe Biden's son is going too
I think Harry is certainly more recognizable.

3. Would they be forced to leave if they were elected?
And thanks for the information about Biden's son. I somehow didn't even know that.

4. I think Harry is a much more recognizable target than either McCain, Palin, or Biden's
sons. His entire unit would have been endangered because of this, as well.

Plus, Harry is third in line for the throne, and the British seem to place a pretty high premium on that.

5. McCain's and Palin's children are not from royal bloodlines.
I'm assuming.

6. Harry was in Afghanistan for weeks until the info was leaked.
For a long time the press kept their mouths shut; I forget what actually broke the story.

I don't think he ever had a connection to Iraq.

No idea about what McCain's son did; Biden's son will be mostly administrative in the Green Zone I think; Palin's will be guarding diplomats or something, so could be relatively low or high risk depending on where the diplomats go?

8. There were specific threats made against him
He's a bit more recognizable and potentially powerful than the others because of his bloodline.

Don't forget Biden's son is going too.

9. The most obvious is that we are not, (yet) a society of Royal
bloodlines. The ME plays a lot into bloodlines, and "royalty" is often revered. The House of Saud is one if the more blatant items in this vein.

13. My apologies if this is way off topic but I just heard from two
radio shows that Enquirer is covering a story about Palin's son facing serious jail time for a meth lab and the judge giving him the option of jail or Iraq. The raiod announcers indicated CNN may be tracking same story. If this is true this famiy is just a complete mess of family values.
