Get Obama in Front of Big Crowd Again, Fast!
The media (and McCain camp) pressured Obama to get out of large crowds and do "small stuff" because he wasn't "connecting with the people" (and to protect asswipe who couldn't get enough people to fill a phone booth). Now they are hyping "Sarah---Jesus Christ Superstar" with big crowds (her big crowds could fit in Obama's suitcase)...but the perception is there. It's leaving Obama talking in front of a few farmers on hay bales. He needs some big rallies. Maybe not enormous but like 15,000 or so. He needs to reclaim the "star" and not let this go on for weeks---as General Lee would say "there is no time, there is no time for that".

1. Obama's not taking any bait they throw out. Obama is
running this campaign and forcing them to fight by his rules.

They can't win.

4. Something happens while Obama is in front of those small crowds..
The local media usually covers it.. It reaches more people than one thinks.. Also, how much more does Obama need to do.. He's been out there for 2yrs.. The reason the numbers aren't changing much, is because Obama's base is about 46 to 49%.. Its just those few in the middle that need to be reached... But McCain can't get past 46 ever.. so, I don't think that he's going to win with the Palin pick. Most women, besides the crazy fundies, are absolutely abhorred by her. She does not resonate with most women.. She looks like a vindictive bitch.. When you purposely call yourself a bitbull, its going to take a negative image sooner rather than latter. Hillary was tough.. because she was smart enough to be tough and hold her own. She is just an attack dog, eventually, people will be calling for the bitch (female dog that she called herself) to heal.

7. You mean "heel", not "heal".
Obama will "heal" the nation. She needs to "heel" (sit at her master's heel).

5. You're right. He shines in front of a crowd. This is his sweet spot and he should be out there...
...winning over the undecided. Truly, he's a brilliant public speaker; he's inspirational and magnetic. The more he's out there, the more he'll win over to our side.

If only the networks would cover him with the same level of interest as they gave to Sarahcuda and McLamebrain

10. Its not about mass communication, its about showing people he is people.
He and Joe at the fairs and the BBQ and every person they touch is a decider and impactor getting more than one at a time.

It not about winning big numbers of undecided any more, its about GOTV and winning solid pockets in needed challenges.

14. You're right ...
All of what you say is true, although there are still (god knows how) people that are swaying one way or another, and if we are to believe the polls (grain of salt), the race remains pretty tight. I'm just saying that Obama needs to stay in the limelite and play up his strengths. GOTV, BBQs and baby-kissing are all part of this.

The challenge is getting the media to cover Obama and Biden. Maybe things will swing back after the Saracuda spectacle has faded a bit.

12. Union Thug -that's what I mean
Right now he needs to draw the media to some large crowds in those key states. He has to remind them of the broad picture, the basic principles involved, and he needs to remind masses of what repukes have done to them and make repukes own it. Also, someone needs to point out Palin's social extreme views (don't assume the dumb masses know that or ever will). Then, he can go back to small groups. P.S. Are you Union, Union Thug?...did you see M. Moore's Bowlers for Obama in Michigan last night? They are all union guys and they are pissed. Big thing is how McCain wants to take the company contribution to their healthcare plans and tax it. In other words, repukes hate Unions and they are going to punish them when they get in. Unions need to just scream this to high heaven to their members!!! If you are Union, then get out there and pound this.

15. I missed Bowlers!
Yes, I'm a union member (albeit a small one - WashTech. (and I've maintained my IWW membership for years). I may be seeing what I want to see, but with respect your statement re. union guys being pissed - yes, I'm seeing this too. I haven't seen the IAM guys so fired up in many years (I worked as a machinist at Boeing in the late 80s and nothing I saw then compares to the fervor with which they are entering this year's dispute). The ILWU has started flexing its muscles, too (not to mention the rise of the service employees...).

Pounding as pound can...

9. Ummm... Obama was in PA Amish country a couple days ago with a crowd of 15,000
and an ADDITIONAL 5000 who were waiting just outside the park's venue due to no more room being left.

And ummm... "star" is a lunatic fringe talking point. Why would you promote their talking points? Obama didn't compete in a Mr. America contest, but Parah Stalin has tried to be in the celebrity spotlight all of her adult life.

16. BumRush--didn't know he had that size crowd
It sure wasn't covered that way by the media. Just looked like maybe 100 folks. I'm talking "star" now because the media AND MCCAIN are trying to promote her as the "hot ticket for the next two months" and it is drawing media hyping about her crowd appeal. The city they were in in Wisconsin is a turn in the road and couldn't draw the kind of crowds Obama does. Right now the media perception is making people think that the masses are rushing to kiss Sarah's hand and, what really pisses me, is they are trying to picture Obama and his campaign as "at a loss as to what to do". If nothing else, then, Obama needs to get the camera to pan back over the crowd.
