"Historic," my ass.
Edited on Sat Sep-06-08 11:36 AM by BklynChick
Barack Obama campaigned for 18 months. He raised money. He built a campaign infrastructure. He was vetted by the American people, who have watched his every move, and voted for him 18 million strong. She was picked by a crazy old desperate man who talked to her twice and made the decision over a period of time shorter than most of go through job interviews.

I don't consider their race historic.

2. It's like preparing preparing for a talent contest, and the judges pick....
.. someone in the audience who was singing along with the music. It's like that.

6. No matter how you slice it, she is the first female GOP VP candidate. Of course,
it's taken the GOP more than a generation and a lot of desperation on McCain's part to do what Dems risked a long time ago. But, it is what it is. McCain did not want the only historic thing about his ticket to be his age. I can understand that. Noun, verb POW. yadda yadda

8. Actually, it took the success of a man who is perceived as
black, to cause the republicans to do this.
