After McCain Attacked Media, Is Media Moving to Our Side?
Getting some strange vibes. Some real water carriers for repukes (like Campbell Brown) seem tamed down. I'm sure they don't like being made the villan because low ratings/readership means bye, bye job (and this has been like an ad war against the media). Also, they have to report on something and if Palin is kept away from them, all they have to report on is chasing things from her past and start smearing her (if they don't, they can't draw her out and that means no story). Media this time could do some damage to McCain (I guess some reporters that followed him around like a dog for years are outraged the way they are now being treated)! Poor whores.......

1. I don't think any of them really want McCain/ Palin in the whitehouse.
Really, its quite a stretch even for them.

2. In the past they have responded to attacks by groveling even more
But I don't think I've ever heard a more goofy paranoid attack on the press than what has come out of the McPOW campaign (and out off McPOW's own mouth). There might be something to what you say.

Of course it would be better if the new found media independence was due to the discovery on the part of their corporate masters that Dems really are better for business.

3. I think people on this board misread the media a lot.
Everytime anyone on TV says anythng that could remotely be construed as pro-Republican, people here scream "Right wing media bias!" In truth, most media people are liberals in their private lives, and everyone knows that. so they bend over backward to try to be "balanced," and yes, that sometimes leads to their making absurd statements and comparisons.

7. Which is why Tom Brokaw worshipped McCain all week
and why David Gregory calls Obama an 'egomaniac.'

14. Brokaw is a perfect example.
He is a famously concerned environmentalist, and yet everyone here thinks he is a conservative for some weird reason.

Anything that comes through the television screen is highly synthesized. Truth doesn't have balance.

29. No, they are "lifestyle liberals" with their organic food, world music collections...
Edited on Sat Sep-06-08 02:15 PM by mitchum
children in Montessori school, public radio contributions, really wonderful gay couple who live next door, (dare I say it?) latte consumption, etc...
but if they wee really liberal they would not be devoting their labor and "talents" to the propaganda machine of the over class.
But then again, they really do need the money that allows them to afford their "liberal" lifestyles.
Whores with intentions of gold.

edit: typo

9. No. Ther are a number of possible scenarios about why the attack was made
but they all end with the MSM being in the tank for McCain.

as to not appear librul.
However, I have to say that I have been impressed with Campbell Brown the last couple of nights. I am forced to watch CNN in the kitchen while I make dinner, since MSNBC has switched to cable box only. Grrr.

16. On at least 3 different nights
I have seen Campbell Brown really going after Palin. Once with an aid to McCain, who would not answer her question, she kept on the subject and really took him to the carpet, he still would not answer her question, but she stood up to him. Another night she was trying real hard to keep the subject on Palin's lack of experience, but old Blittzer changed the subject on her. Last night she was in it with the sister of Pat Buchanan. Buchanan really got ticked off at Campbell going after Palin's record, and questioning some of the lies Palin has been caught in. Campbell stood her ground again. It has amazed me!

I think that there will be some in the media that "will" go after Palin, and I think McCain is going to regret the attacks on the media.

In the past, haven't they pretty much let Republicans lie with impunity? It's still not nearly enough, of course.

12. I think that they are moving...
...today on the Albany, NY CBS affiliate, I even saw a story as to how their team got arrested in Minneapolis. I had to do a double take. I haven't been been able to find a video on their website though. I have seen quite a few national outlets striking back at the barracuda, and hope that there is more.

15. I'm not talking a massive shift but...
...there's just little "stuff" that's different. I expected a media orgy at that convention but when they started fingering the media, I saw some changes. Blitzer, Borga (sp.?), Gerkin, King, O'Brien etc. on CNN seemed less inclined to sit there and let the repukes spin bullshit. They shoved back a bit..for once. And, they let their "left" counterparts like Brazille, etc. talk more. On the MSNBC side, I have to admit that Mika was the total ditz. All you have to do is run a speech and she's all for whatever she heard last. But it was funny as all, including Joe, thought it was still Obama's race and she's the one who voted "no". I predict they are not going to let the McCain camp dictate to them for the next two months because then they have nothing "breathtaking" to cover and they need that to compete. Stay tuned.........

18. Nope. They'll bend over backwards to prove that they're not biased against McCain.
The media are cowards. All it takes is a little criticism from Repukes about their "bias" and they run scared. They start tailoring their reports and opinions to avoid these charges, and the only way to avoid charges of media bias from Repukes is to deliver pure fellation.

25. I've read that the only way to really piss off the media is....
to shut them out. They are happy to pitch you softballs, and report your bullshit as truth, but they get really mad when denied access.

If true, this no access to Palin may backfire and actually stir up the media.

26. Let's get something straight ...
The difference in the candidates in this race, ESPECIALLY after picking Palin, could not be more stark, as well as their campaigns.

BO is light and day a better, more capable presidential candidate, and has run as good and intellectually honest campaign as we have seen. McCain has made more monumental blunders, said more incredibly damaging things, than any candidate in my life.

And, despite this, they have for MONTHS parroted "BO has problems" and "McCain is the Maverick," ran with EVERY single hair brained attack that McCain has thrown out, beaten to death the totally irrevelant "celbrity" and "no one knows him" memes, more than I can count, and have absolutely BURIED more campaign terminating gaffes on McCain's part than I can possibly even begin to keep track of.

Jesus Christ, his freakin campaign said the CANDIDATE DOES NOT SPEAK FOR THE CAMPAIGN!

Had BO's camp, or ANY D's camp said something like that, EVERY talking head on TV would be laughing their butt off with that quip ever freakin 15 minute segment.

This race SHOULD NOT BE CLOSE, and it is in great part to the most distorted and bizarre coverage, it is so over the top these jackarses don't even try to hide it.

We had the DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION two weeks ago, and they had 3 Rs to every one D. This last week, the RNC, you could count the number of Ds on one hand.

Palin is hands down the worst VP pick in history. Hands down. And, they are running with the hockey mom reformer crape. There is NOTHING good about her as a VP pick, and they are propping her as prescribed.

Can you imagine for ONE SECOND what their "outrage" at this moment would be if a D picked someone as unqualified as Palin, with her baggage, and would not let the media interview him/her?

SO, today, I turn on CNN, and what do I see, coverage of the McCain/Palin rally, and all their talking heads BREATHLESSLY going on about the flags left over from the BO speech - some specious BULLSPIT that has nothing to do with nothing, but absolute RED MEAT that they have been ORDERED from their republican masters to propogate.
