"She's so good, 'they' are now trying not to talk about her" - CNN
Edited on Sat Sep-06-08 12:48 PM by FrenchieCat
I was watching "Your Money", and there were these two guy standing there talking about McCain's Veep Gimmick.

One of the said, "even if McCain loses in 2008, Palin, she becomes an instant star for 2012!"
The other guy than says, "she's so good, they are now trying not to talk about her".

My point is that these GOP operatives, cause that is what these folks were, read the blogs....and we are pretty much the "they" in that sentence.

I just wanted us to always remember; The GOP are tracking us closely, and they know what we discuss in reference to our reactions, our proposed strategies, our fears, our tentativeness, etc.....

In other words, this blog and other blogs help the other team as much as we think it may help our side.

We are an open book, and they all read what we write, I just didn't want anyone to forget.

Perhaps we should think about reading the "RNC" Blogs more. I know I don't, but perhaps, the time has come.

PS. Gov. Gimmick was not that good at all. Snark is not greatness, and delivering a good punchline doesn't equal "talent". I think that they are getting a bit carried away. :eyes:

18. so are most dem surrogates and smart analysts, including Begala and David Gergen
Gergen cites Nixon, from 68, who said that dems really screwed up by "shooting down" at Agnew as much as they did, wasting time on him that would be better spent on Nixon himself

it's so obvious

concentrate on McCain's TERRIBLE judgment, from Keating to selecting Palin. you don''t need to talk about her, other than to mention that she's the worst, most extreme, most unqualified VP candidate ever, and leave it at that.

it's that simple

7. They don't want to talk about her because it lead to reporters trying to circumvent the campaign
and ask her questions, thus giving her the chance to prove her ignorance.

8. Frenchie, you are correct.
That is why we need to stick to the message and not the scandals. To me, it is very important that we talk about Palin's stands on reproductive rights. American women don't really want to give up their contraception and their right to abort if raped. THAT is the part of Palin we need to focus on. Her core beliefs that are not really the core beliefs of most people.

We also have to keep reminding people that Palin is a Newt Gingrich protege, She attended his leadership training.

9. Hi Frenchie!
:hi:

I won't post crap or hyperbole but it's not because I care what GOP bloggers think. I gave up caring about what they think a long time ago. I'd rather be right than do a smear job with half truths. That's what they do. I won't sink to their level.

My cousin's idiot wife sends me plenty of RW hyperbole for me to have a pretty clear idea of what's being posted on RW blogs. :puke: it's just :puke:

11. Example Right Wing Blog
1) This election is not about the issues.
2) The ruling party, that's us, is going change the way things are done.
3) Be clear about this, the candidate does not speak for the campaign. (actual quote)
4) We are the alternative energy party, except when it comes to voting in the Senate.
5) Our opponents are wacko and unpatriotic and cannot be trusted.
6) We will ship your job overseas, bankrupt anyone with medical issues, but we won't tax anyone and you can keep your gun.
7) Our opponents are commies and maybe Islamic radicals.
8) God is on our side and Jesus will lead us to victory.

etc.

14. Nope......
Just remind all that we are not underground as we are named. That's all.

Folks should do what they do......because I don't have power over that.

I just think some of us don't believe that anyone is really paying attention to us,
I, on the other hand, believe that the opposite is true.

19. Oh I believe that too..
and it's out of necessity. They can control the news but they can't control the blogs, so the blogs are now the enemy. But the blogs are 'we the people'. I don't watch the news, so maybe I'm missing something?

16. I still think they grossly over estimate Palin's appeal.....
over at the GOP. She did NOTHING to attract new supporters in her speech, but played to those who have already decided they like her. And she is still unqualified, not to mention unproven.

The Republicans revved up their noise machine to hyper drive when they realized the mistake they'd made not vetting Palin. It worked. Now the loyal wing nuts believe her MORE qualified than, well, just about anyone!! She's practically ready for sainthood in the minds of the party loyal. But she needs to attract voters, not just preach to the choir.

21. Except our nominee talked about her just a little while ago in Indiana.
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0908/13205.html

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — Barack Obama took his first direct swipe at Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin on Saturday, criticizing her for supporting congressional earmarks before opposing them.

“I know the governor of Alaska has been, you know, saying she is change,” Obama said at a town hall meeting here. “And that is great. She is a skillful politician. But when you been taking all these earmarks when it is convenient and then suddenly you are the champion anti-earmark person.

“That is not change, come on,” Obama continued. “I mean, words mean something. You can’t just make stuff up. You can’t just make stuff up. We have a choice to make and the choice is clear.”

(SNIP)

Obama also took on McCain’s inner circle Saturday, saying the presence of former lobbyists at the highest tier of his campaign makes him incapable of meeting his pledge to shut down special interest influence.

“Suddenly, he’s the change agent,” Obama said of McCain. “He says, ‘I’m going to tell those lobbyists that their days in Washington are over.’ Who’s he going to tell? Is he going to tell his campaign chairman who’s one of the biggest corporate lobbyists in Washington? Is he going to tell all the folks who are running his campaign who are the biggest corporate lobbyists in Washington?

“Who is it that he’s going to tell that change is coming?” Obama asked. “I mean, come on, they must think you’re stupid!”
