I am thrilled by the small amount of bump!! Why do so many here seem disappointed by it?

Who assumed they would get no bump at all?

If we even fall behind for a week it would not bother me. We have 8 weeks left.

And three debates. And more trash about Palin I am sure.

I am not worried about a small bump. It was bound to happen!

1. It isn't over yet...

Their bump needed to erase Obama's lead and then put them in the lead. Part I is almost finished, Part II may or may not happen, we'll see.

But don't get too excited until about mid-week, then we'll have an idea of whether or not they saw a "bump" to put them over Obama for a while.

2. You won't see the full bounce until monday. McCain may very well take the lead in gallup tomorrow.
But my guess is he'll only go ahead be a few points and things will eventually even out again.

3. True Obama got his bump from the convention and Mccain will get his bump too
and then it will go back down. I am more interested to see where we are at later in the month and in October. My fingers are crossed for the debates and I want to see the EV count and the state numbers remain strong and get better across the board. Bill and Hillary Clinton should help in certain states and Joe Biden has been doing well. Also we just need more great female surrogates to pound Palin which Obama appears to have in order. We need to get out the fact that from the moment Sarah Palin has been introduced she has been lying and you can't believe a word that comes out of her mouth. We also desperately need to hammer home that Obama's economic plan is much better for the average person's pocket book.

4. If McCain doesn't take the lead tomorrow the RNC was an EPIC FAIL.
Seriously, anything short of taking the lead tomorrow means they failed to accomplish what needed to be accomplished and most likely will lose huge. There's no way around that.

And that has to be a lead in both major daily tracking polls.

5. I am surprised it is so slow coming, but I think they will get one
There was just so much media associated with Palin. Then it will settle out the next week.

7. Wait until midweek before assessing the situation.
There is a lag. But I think if Obama and Biden can get the discussion around to eight years of failure, disaster, financial mismanagement, corruption and malfeasance, we have a good shot at dismembering their distraction assault and pushing this thing over the top.

McCain created a huge opening by trying to argue that he is going to reform the republican party. Why would they need reforming? If they can't run things properly, perhaps the people ought to put the other party in charge while McCain takes his reform movement offline. I seem to recall that we left them a nation at peace, economic prosperity, and a freaking budget surplus when Clinton left office and the republicans took control of all three branches of government. They created a complete mess and now they are asking to be put in charge of cleaning up the mess they made? That is an incredibly weak argument for voting them back in power and Obama/Biden need to get all over that.
