Serious question... Do we know what her views are? |
|
Edited on Sat Sep-06-08 03:53 PM by jefferson_dem
Does anybody know FOR SURE what Palin's views are on job-creation, economic stimulation, health care, the environment, the war, north korea, pakistan, israel-palestine, immigration...
We assume she's a doctrinaire neocon knuckle-dragger (and rightly so) but do we really know? How could we? How could anybody? With all the critical issues around us, she hasn't said shit about substantive policy other than her boring drill spiel.
EDIT: Don't misinterpret. My point is not to say "maybe she's not as bad as we think" because I'm sure she's that and worse. My point is that she has said absolutely nothing of substance so far.

2. We know she'll shit up the environment for oil profits. She says |

the war is God's war, so she'll do God's work. She'll ban books and fire whoever gets in her way of it. She's hardly an animal lover.

And they don't want us to know. This is a quarterback sneak right up the middle. McCain is carrying her off right tackle and if he get through she will be free to push what ever extremist views that have achieved Dobson's support.
All I know is if Dobson who wasn't for McCain is suddenly supporting him because of this choice, there is something really bad happening in GOP'ville.

4. Problem is, she comes from Alaska |
|
The game there, as I understand, is mostly a simple parcelling out of oil revenues and federal government largesse. That's mainly what the governor does, and that's why she tries to steer every political question toward energy. She promised to do it more fairly and in a less corrupt manner than her predecessors and that's how she got elected less than two years ago. She hasn't had to develop her views in other areas in order to be sucessful, so she's really a ground-up proposition for the McCain team.

anyone to know where she stands on critical issues. All you really need to know about her stances can be found by googling "dominionism".

10. her views are what McCain tells her they are |
|
The speech that is getting "rave reviews" (gimme a break) was written mostly before she was even chosen.

11. The Republicans intend to hide her views until after the election |
|
You saw it last night on Real Time With Bill Maher. One of his guests was GOPAC Chairman Michael Steele. Maher kept saying that Palin was a "Jesus Freak". Steele denied it and kept trying to talk over Maher. Steele was at his most animated and aggressive level during the entire show. Maher read a quote of Palin stating that the war in Iraq was a mission from God. Steele kept interrupting him and saying that those words do not equal being a "Jesus freak". He said millions of church goers probably have the same opinion, that the war in Iraq is in fact a mission from God. When others on the panel said that we just need to know more about Palin, Steele sat there in stony silence.
They don't want anything to come out until it's too late and we are stuck with another freak whose ideas belong in the middle ages, like Chimp.
