1. Most of S. Louisiana, especially around Baton Rouge, is still without...
power from Gustav. Estimates for many areas are that it will take two or three more weeks to restore. we really don't need another one now.

2. I Saw That Too
I noticed that with mixed feelings. I am in Central Florida, so naturally I am glad that we seem to be moving out of Ike's strike cone.
But, oh, geez, New Orleans!

What worries me is all these people just go back from the Gustav evacuation a few days ago. Now, they're going to be told to evacuate again and may be reluctant to leave and spend 5+ days in a shelter or paying for a hotel room since Gustav wasn't nearly as bad as forecast.

9. I'm in South Florida, so I have been watching it as well.
My area is still in the error cone.

10. Which goes to show that merely getting people out of town isn't good enough,
there has to be a decent place to evacuate them to! At a minimum - showers, maybe some TV rooms, places for the kids to be, quiet places for people to be away from kids, etc.

5. I saw that about 1/2 hr. ago. As much as they had been saying Miami and
Ga. it's looking like the Gulf for sure!

7. I can't watch this. Those people are gonna refuse to pick up and
evacuate again so soon.
