THE US IS 53T IN DEBT, AND 1/2 THE POPULACE WANTS 2 ECONOMIC DUMMIES IN OFFICE???
Edited on Mon Sep-08-08 12:47 PM by Obama_for_our_future
At a time when this nation is getting periously close to hyperinflation, because of wars funded with Chinese money, we actually want McCain and Palin to run this country??!!? McCain, who has admitted to not knowing much about the economy, and Palin, who didn't know the most basic of information about Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, and almost certainly knows less about the economy than McCain, should win this election? GIVE ME A DAMN BREAK! I want the smartest mofos in the room, the ones who can actually think of a plan, and with a Democratic Congress, carry it out. We NEED Obama/Biden for the economy (as well as thousands of other reasons)!!!!

*edit to put debt at 53 trillion rather than 10.

1. Yeah. I just don't get it.
All anybody has to do is go to the grocery store and see how much they DON'T get for their money. Or go to the gas station. It's that simple.

9. 78% of America's NationaL Debt Has Been Racked Up By the Last Three Republican Presidents
Edited on Mon Sep-08-08 12:44 PM by mikekohr
Reagan, Bush, and Bushed. 12% of our National debt is World War Two debt that has not been repaid as of yet. Every President from Truman to Jimmy Carter whittled down the staggering debt that war cost us. This trend was reversed by Reagan and Bush I, put back on track by Bill Clinton and reversed yet again, with vengeance by the current Bush.

10. The average American is thousands of dollars in debt...
And has no clue how to manage their own finances.

They just want somebody "like them" in the White House. Who wants a President that reminds them of what a loser they are?!?!

:sarcasm:

11. And the average Joe who is in debt and has trouble buying groceries needs to understand
how important getting the nat'l debt down is, how it relates to a stronger dollar, more US buying power, and lower prices at the supermarket, the dept. store, the pump, etc. They just don't get it. It IS about the issues, not about the personalities, although we'd be winning that metric by a metric ton as well!

14. The jobs seem to be leaving anyway, regardless of dollar strength
Edited on Mon Sep-08-08 12:53 PM by Obama_for_our_future
The US corporations and businesses are having a rougher go of it, as everything they are purchasing is costing considerably more. Jobs are being cut to meet Wall St. expectations, or just because the smaller businesses simply can't afford as many workers. Also, big business is always streamlining, and further automating to reduce headcounts. They do not want to pay out more wages and benefits than absolutely necessary, which starts to tie into one of the reasons we need a single-payer gov't health plan.

17. Propping up the dollar? I'm just talking about how it has been so weakened by carrying enormous debt
It IS the gov'ts job to responsibly budget and spend the taxpayers' money in a way that brings down nat'l debt. Ideally, we'd be at break-even, or even a surplus, so the gov't could just worry about a balanced budget, but alas, they need to start paying this pig down, or we are looking at currency devaluation! Then we're screwed...
