McCain is making a mistake with his big Sarah Palin "roll-out" on ABC ...
here's a news story about it.

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0908/13264.html

I think the smartest thing McCain could do would be to "tease" the public with a little Palin here and there until the election. Because once people find out what Palin is all about- and I expect their opinions will be generally favorable - they are going to move onto the next thing. They are going to realize that VPs are heard from very seldom and that McCain's old, scarred face is the one they will be looking at during press conferences.

I now think that Palin is a smart woman and formidable opponent- not the yokel bimbo I suspected she might be at first. But watching her ridicule Obama on tv tonight, she seems a little TOO pretty and self-assured and perfect. I'm not at all sure her act will wear well with the Ohio housewife struggling to pay the bills.

So I'm all for Palin getting a bunch of interviews and the sooner the better. I expect she will do well, but I expect people will get tired of her, or even if they like her, they will move on to actual issues in the campaign.

5. That's not really the issue, IMO- making her a known quantity is the issue
people are always going to be intrigued by the unknown. The sooner people can get to think "ok, now I know what Sarah Palin" is all about they will move onto something else.

This is a talented woman, let's just admit that and get back to talking about the fact that the top of this ticket is an unstable 72 year old man with the same policy positions as George Bush. That will be a lot easier after the public's Palin curiosity is satisfied.

8. I'll not admit to it
Talented? At what? Lying? Screw that! People need to know she's an end timer that wants nothing less than Armaggedon. She's friggin crazy and THAT'" what people need to know.

3. He had no choice... the press was going berserk
at the premise that Palin would not meet the press...
so behold we have this soft little charade to keep them at bay.

4. He must not know much about this woman. As soon as people get a load of her "no abortion for rape"
or incest... creationism/evolution... et al She will be a lot less appealing. Independents and a lot of repubs got frustrated with the party because of their turn to fundamentalism. McCain was elected because people thought he wasn't like the other members of the party...

I disagree. The more that comes out about her, the more of a drag she will be on the ticket.

6. That would be even better, but after her speech I'm going to assume she'll do ok
I didn't think the speech was all that great, but everyone went bonkers over it, so there's obviously something that works there for most people.
