Litmus test for the Obama campaign: Making a campaign ad highlighting Palin's "Fannie" gaffe
Edited on Mon Sep-08-08 08:23 PM by brentspeak
No campaign worth its salt would fail to produce a TV ad replaying and highlighting Palin's astonishingly idiotic comments -- and McCain's subsequent applause. If such a campaign ad doesn't materialize -- or is not aired on as many local markets as possible -- that is when people should begin worrying the Obama campaign is being run into the ground.

1. s/k: The campaign ad should be called, "WHY is Sen. McCain applauding this statement?"
"And they're running for the highest offices in the land?"

2. "Perhaps it's the same reason he laughed at 'how do we beat the bitch?'"
McCain simply does not have the judgment nor the temperament to be President.

3. I disagree.
It's not as sexy as her "Bridge to Nowhere" lie, or the "Not really sure what the VP does" line. Most people don't understand Freddie & Fannie, so few people will really relate to it.

4. People will react to being shown how

McCain and Palin don't understand how two of the most fundamental planks of the nation's economy (Fannie and Freddie) even work. No need for an ad that has a lot of text: just show images of neighborhoods with tons of "foreclosure" signs, and the text, "Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are NOT run with taxpayer dollars. Everyone in Washington and Wall Street and Main Street knows this -- everyone, that is, but Sen.McCain and Gov.Palin . How can they possibly be entrusted with your family's economic future?"

7. Okay, I'm seeing it.
They're out of touch and ill-prepared to handle the mortgage crisis.

5. He could do it, but some of this is better left alone, I'll tell you why
Would you like to see an endless loop of Barak's slip "my Muslim faith" played over and over in the battleground states?

I'm sure Barak has thought about this.

6. Any campaign that blinks for fear of what the other campaign might do
should just as well call it a day.
