My take on Obama's refrain "When the dust settles, Americans will make the right choice..."
That was his constant comeback during Olberman show.

The dust will not settle.

Classic Rovian tactics...stir up dirt, dust, spin, sewage, lies, garbage, hatred, wedge issues, etc until election day.

1. Good point. In Minnesota in 2004, I saw a Swift Boat ad on TV...
...on the day of the election.

John Kerry won Minnesota, but it was in spite of garbage against him through Election Day.

2. Rosa Parks from the LA Times was on Rachel and said
the same thing about the dust settling.

I think the bloom is about to fall off the rose w/Palin. She's got problems, and the media will get sick of hiding that. Already cnn has aired some stories, from what I read.

5. Obama never lets attacks go unanswered
As we saw in the primaries, he sits back a little and waits before striking full force.

16. I'm really feeling this.
They're planning something. Obama's answers are nuanced in a way that makes me think he's got something up his sleeve.

He is prepared for Rovian tactics and experienced them many times before. This isn't John Kerry

11. waiting for the moment to hit back hard
Obama is a talented politician, and will put McCain back in his place.

This guy know what he is doing. He didn't become the nominee against the odds by accident.

7. He reminds me of Bruce Wayne patiently running for office while the Penguin throws parties.
On the old Batman series from the 60s. The Penguin kisses babies and tells everyone he is for motherhood and apple pie. Everyone, even Bruce's aunt fall for the Penguin's scam.

Sometimes, Karl Rove reminds me of the Penguin.

9. Take comfort that Bruce Wayne won in the end. He trusted the American people.
Of course that was 1966....

20. Agree. His appearance on Olbermann, which should have been a breeze
was hesitant and tired.

No, they will not make the right choice. They don't care about facts and figures. They are charmed by the freshness, the zingers of Palin and this is what counts.

21. Obama will LOSE
If he won't attack he must unleash third party attacks. Not on issues. People don't vote on issues they vote with their gut, or more technically their primitive primate brain.

If the dems don't attack they will be perceived by weak in all the border states. The democrats have learned absolutely nothing since Dukakis.

This is an emotional election not a referendum on policy. This is an election on race. Can people trust a guy who doesn't look like them? Sorry. That's the way a low info white voter is FEELING! They are not thinking at all. This is an election on who scares the voter the most. Right now Obama and Biden keep falling all over themselves saying they "respect McCain's service" WTF?!?! Somebody shove a goddamn sock in their mouths. If you can only say something nice about your opponent, keep your mouth fucking shut! They are the enemy and don't confuse the voter with compliments. It makes you look weak. AGAIN. Democrats the party of wussies! That is how the corporate owned media paints them. 24/7 on all the cable news shows. On virtually all am radio shows. People have internalized this message over the last 25 years and they will need a powerful reason to vote AGAINST McCain not a feel good reason to vote FOR Obama.

Two never ending wars. Unemployment skyrocketing. The mortgage debacle. Gas prices approaching $5 a gallon. Forget health care costs, people just hope they aren't wrongfully denied and then fucking die! God forbid a hurricane hits your town.

PEOPLE ARE FUCKING PISSING IN THEIR PANTS. You can't turn fear into hope overnight. You can only focus the fear. Either McCain focuses it on the weak, happy black man, or Obama puts the fear where it belongs: on the lying, adulterous, war mongering, economically ignorant, old with one foot in the grave, Keating five criminal, lobbyist controlled puppet who made propaganda films and signed confessions as a POW.

Hope is a good message but it is for after elections are won. If Obama doesn't start letting his surrogates and 527's expose and define McCain he will LOSE. Dukakis. Gore. Kerry. All had leads going into the election. All lost. None had as great as hurdles as Obama has. I believe Obama is a better candidate. It's just that he needs to be even better.

People forget the first rule when you're in a knife fight. Everyone bleeds. To win, you make your opponent bleed more.

22. Blahbity-blah-blah-blah
Can it. If you keep posting the same shit over and over again, it will do the opposite of what you want, which is people to listen to you. It will just annoy the shit out of us and make us wish you would shut up.

Obama is smarter than you. If he loses, it will be for the same reasons that Gore and Kerry lost: systematic disenfranchisement of likely Democratic voters.

I can assure you it will not be because of his failure to take your half-baked advice.

23. He's got to start answering "We know she didn't sell the plane on EBAY, we know ...
... she supported the bridge to nowhere, we know she's telling tall tales that the media should be questioning her about."

If he does not hit back effectively, he's headed down the same slide as John Kerry took.

Wake up, O! That 'aw shucks' nice guy routine is not going to win this election. If he refuses to fight back on a timely basis, his candidacy is sunk.
